I own my body and what I ingest is my own business. If other humans claim the right to use violence to prohibit me from ingesting any substance, they claim the right to enslave me. This includes the so-called regulated pharmacopia, which should also be deregulated. There is no provision in the U.S. Constitution for the FDA. I have the natural right to ingest both asthma medicine and heroine.
Prohibitionists are tyrants.

I have the natural right to ingest both asthma medicine and heroine. What if the heroine objects? Is it her constitutional right to defend herself?

Too bad it's illegal to possess, distribute and traffic heroine - eh?

I own my body and what I ingest is my own business. Sorry, it doesn't work that way. If you ingest something and become a public charge, the public is stuck with the bill of keeping you alive. Hence the public has a right to prevent you from doing things that will make you a public charge.
And no, we don't live in a libertarian utopia, so we cannot allow drug addicts to simply die on the streets. Besides, druggies dying and begging on the streets impose a negative externality on those who have to pass by them.
