Free Republic and Liberty Post.org
To all:
I would hope your appearances and posting on these pages states your desire to undo years of liberal policies in this land I hope we all dearly love. I would hope that a hundred successful LibertyPost.org and FreeRepublics would advance the cause we all hold near and dear.
From what I have read here it seems many are more interested in fighting each other than they are in advancing the cause of individual liberty and limited constitution government as envisioned by our forefathers.
If my second paragraph is the truth, shame on you.
Let us stop the petty bickering about crap that doesn't amount to a hill of blue beans and get on with the job at hand.

The problem is, with both liberals and AFers you're fighting the Black Knight I believe that to be a good thing. That worthy has admittedly waxed my tail on numerous occasions, but I have also waxed his as well from time to time.

Agreed 'pod. Banning and deleting shows that we can't "handle" situations on our own, like a TRUE CONSERVATIVE would do if a stranger barged into their home. I have seen FReepers take care of trolls and disruptors with aplomb. I am always proud of them!

I am sorry, I thought we were talking about Free Republic. You must be talking about some other site where criticism of the GOP isn't allowed. As dirtboy so aptly pointed out, there exists tons of criticism of the GOP here, so much so that at times I start wondering what the hell is going on.
In any case, I am a big fan of the marketplace. If one way is better than another at advancing the causes we believe, the best way to find that better way is to set up several sites and run them differently and see which works best.
Heck, the market is going to do that anyway.

I never said the choice was not yours. I honor your right to control your private property as you see fit. I follow the rules here.
However, it is my opinion, that free and open discussion is a good thing in general. Although there needs to be limits to keep people on the general topic and to make sure innappropriate racial/sexual hate speech is eliminated, controversy and difference of opinion fires people up and provides them with the opporunity to strengthen and fine tune their own position.
We may have a difference of opinion, but that is the American way.

"Don't you agree? Or do you think that there should be people tracking down people to make sure they "stay in line?" I sure hope you aren't proposing that that is acceptable."I SURE thought that was what YOU were suggesting.

I oversee the moderators and I think they are doing a great job. And, no, I'm not going to reveal their names so you can quit asking.

No I was speaking in general terms. I see GOP criticism here, sometimes I agree with it and sometimes I don't. I do however think it would be dangerous to turn this into a big "We love us" club. When the masses are complicit, the time is ripe for tyrrany.

what's an AFer?Anti-freeper. A motley crew of former FR posters who, since JimRob will not listen to their demands about how FR should be run (or, in some cases, liberal idiots who keep coming here so they can be drop-kicked out after fifteen minutes), now roam from site to site, demonstrating to no one but themselves how JimRob is getting rich off of FR donations. Basically, they're a bunch of twits with the emotional development of junior high students.

Thanks JR ...
BTW, what do you PERSONALLY see as the FUTURE of FR in the next 3 - 4 years? Are there any discussions concerning its potential in the conservative movement?
Hope I haven't missed something ... &;-)
To: diotima
Well spoken. That is precisely my position. 'Pod
To: diotima
I agree with that. Which is why I think that Jim does a good job with the balancing act he has. I think he does a wonderful job making sure that this site doesn't become the GOP fan club that some seem to want nor the anti-GOP website that many others would like.
I certainly don't see any lack of diversity of conservative ideas here, that's for sure.

Nothing I've ever seen here (or on any other conservative forum) approaches the venom and all out hatred between Democrats and the super lefty Greens. I occasionally lurk at DU when I don't get enough barf alerts to read here and I know exactly what you mean. Nader gets ripped there as often as Browne and Buchanan do here.
But the Greens are intent on punishing the Democrats and they don't mind getting Republicans elected to do it. It is a sight to behold!
Many people are too quick to assume that third-party sentiment always hurts the GOP.

Admin, I guess you now know better than to interrupt his rhetoric with incovenient facts.
