You said your wife is a Moslem. Are you? I've never heard of Moslems being able to marry outside their religion.
If they allow marriage between different religions, then it must be a more progressive country than others.
Doesn't the island of Cyprus have divided government? It is probably more Western than many other Moslem countries. But I am not really familiar with the country, maybe you can fill us in.

Have you ever travelled outside North America?
I suspect that most of the Free Republic's 'experts' on Islam
never have travelled to a Moslem country.
I know many Moslems who are married to non-Moslems.
