I’m on a couple of public company board of directors. Part of our training was spotting honey traps, especially when we travel to foreign countries.
It absolutely happens, has happened to me twice.
First time, I had fun with it and just asked her “how much was she getting paid?” and things like that. She laughed admitted she tried, and left.
Second time, I took the girl’s picture right away and suddenly two giant neckless blocks of human-like muscle, claiming to be security services (and flashing a badge) demanded my phone and I delete the picture.

If that "girl" came onto me I'd think she was a he really dolled up to look like a she (at least that's my take from looking at the face and neck, which seems masculine to me).
But if a true hottie came onto me I'd know she was a trap unless she did like the women who text me out of sincerity. Those women always say that she's a lonely Ukrainian woman anxious to meet me. /sarc
