2nd degree murder.

Justifiable homicide.

I'm joking of course.

Maybe.

...and getting into a heated argument with a group of men that included the two victims criminals who were actively engaged in a crime.

Fixed it. Give the guy his gun back, reimburse him for his legal and ammo costs, and let him go on about his business.

The older we get, the less a result in the legal system like life in prison scares you from following your principles.

He committed murder and gave their movement martyrs. Neither of which are worth what he’s going through now and in the future.

He deserves a medal!

It’s what inevitably happens when you cannot rely on the government to maintain order. You take matters in your own hands.

Sometimes, I wonder if governments count on people (a nameless, fed-up, upset, and ready-to-act someone) to turn a no-win situation for them into a crime scene so all they have to do is clean it up.

BTW, is the roadblock still in place? Did the incident finally end it?

They were idiots. Once he pulled out the gun, it was time to GTFO. Instead they thought they could sit there and jaw jack with him and a couple of them got their azzes shot as a result.

“Not defending the protesters tactics, they are wrong, but open-pit copper mines are nasty.”

Huge amount of copper is used in their beloved EVs and transmission lines to get them charged.

And let’s not forget the lithium mines for their batteries.

These morons are absolute fools and the sooner we put them out of commission the better we’ll all be.

My logic is simple.

I am minding my own business.
Eco-terrorist - “You are not allowed to mind your business, you MUST stop, because I don’t like bell-bottom jeans”

Me - this looks like a kidnapping attempt, “I fear for my life”

Blam, blam, blam, blam - still moving? Yep, I still fear for my life, blam, blam, blam.

Drop mag, reload. Survey area. More threats? Address as necessary

Proceed with my business.
That’s the way it should always be. I have no right to demand to intercede into your life; you have no right to demand to intercede into mine.

Funny, it’s a tourist stop here in Utah.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bingham_Canyon_Mine

Tours, hotels, railroad rides, etc. And provides jobs for 2,000 people/families, America seems to have a demand for copper, something to do with electricity.

It’s not the process, it’s how the process is managed. Battery recycling in India, is nothing like how it’s handled in the US. You could compare the industrial kitchen in Europe, to Mexico and see big differences. You could compare septic treatments in the USA and see raw sewage dumped next to a public beach in Mexico. Both use the same process (dispose of septic waste), but how the process is managed, is drastically different.

He is not a “US Lawyer”. He is a “Panamanian Lawyer”. He went to law school in Panama and practiced law there. He was born in Panama, came to the USA where he became a citizen and graduated with a BA from FSU in 1969. It’s not clear when he returned to Panama, but he graduated with an LL.B in Panama in 2020, an LL.M in 2022. He’s lived in his home country at least the past 25 years. He also appears to have ties to money laundering/organized crime in Panama. I won’t be surprised if he gets off scott free.

“but open-pit copper mines are nasty.”

Fracking. oozing lithium mines are just as bad. I don’t recall radicals protesting those....also, why don’t they protest in China? (rhetorical)

Will he feel the least bit of remorse? I doubt it. People are getting sick of these clowns.

“The mine is in an environmentally sensitive area.”

Isn’t it amazing that every mine, road, oil well, forest, fishing ground, ALWAYS located in “an environmentally sensitive area.”
