I got a vasectomy when I was 34. Already had 2 daughters. This was in 1978. Wife couldn’t be on the pill. I had to take her to the doctor so they could talk to her. Sheesh.
I have 2 daughters, 1 son (okay, step-son, but I am his dad), 5 granddaughters and 5 great grandsons..
gotta say it is liberating to not have worry about birthcontrol..
My wife said she wanted two boys and two girls and that's what I gave her.
After that, my job was done.
The worst part about the procedure was watching the video where they demonstrated what would take place. The vasectomy itself was absolutely effortless. I didn't even bother with the narcotic painkillers in recovery. I took Motrin. Felt like my balls were sunburned for a couple of says. That was it.
