A white supremacist has seen his views radically change after taking a single pill of the drug MDMA.
Brendan - whose full name is being kept anonymous - was one of the leaders of the white nationalist group US Midwest faction of the American Identity Movement, a group that openly calls for the country to return to 'white rule.'
He took part in a February 2020 trial run by the University of Chicago, which involved giving him 110 milligrams of MDMA.
Brendan wrote a cryptic message in his exit questionnaire that read: 'This experience has helped me sort out a debilitating personal issue. Google my name. I now know what I need to do.'
After searching Brendan's full name online, Dr Harriet de Wit, a professor of psychiatry and behavioral science at the Chicago college who led the trial, up Brendan's name, they found out that just months before, Brendan had been a leader American Identity Movement's Midwest division and had attended the Charlottesville protest that ended in one death and several injuries
Brendan had been exposed two months earlier by activists at the Chicago Antifascist Action and lost his job. After he took MDMA in de Wit's experiment, he told research assistant Mike Bremmer that what he had to do was love.
'Love is the most important thing,' Brendan said. 'Nothing matters without love.'
'It's what everyone says about this damn drug, that it makes people feel love. To think that a drug could change somebody's beliefs and thoughts without any expectations – it's mind-boggling,'

MDMA should be legal in rest homes.
The rest of us should be allowed to try it under medical supervision. Ultimately it should be legal.
So it destroys the brain and left him with a more loving sense of the universe. Good, give the drug to the Antifa folks. Maybe they will throw flowers at the cops instead of Molotovs and bricks.

MDMA was originally (in the 1920s) used to help couples who were having marital issues. This is hardly surprising.
In my experience, love drug works to heighten things with someone you love. But that was long ago, so who knows?
