End of the Electoral College is in sight if Democrats keep getting their way
Faux News ^ | February 16, 2023 11:00am EST | Chuck DeVore

Pundits and politicians on the political left have been pushing to overturn the Electoral College—the way America chooses presidents—by enacting a national popular vote interstate compact. Now, with 15 reliably blue states and the District of Columbia in agreement, and action pending in an additional six states, including Florida and Texas, the national popular vote is on the verge of reality. […]

It seems simple enough. Robert B. Reich, former Secretary of Labor under President Bill Clinton, writes that “…the entire process of selecting our president… threatens the foundation of our democracy.” Reich goes on to note that, “In 2020, Biden owed his Electoral College victory to just 43,809 votes…” in three states with Trump likewise winning in 2016 by 77,744 votes in three states. This, he says, is “divisive” and “arbitrary.”

Supporters of the national popular vote say that instead of presidential campaigns focusing on a few battleground states (as they say the case is with the Electoral College), a national popular vote would force candidates to campaign across the entire nation. […]

Contrary to the proponents of a national popular vote, the U.S. is not a democracy; it’s a constitutional republic. This means that we elect representatives who are bound by the rules of the Constitution. This form of government is designed to best secure liberty and protect the rights of the citizenry—including the minority. […]

… The Electoral College is a direct acknowledgment that we have a federal form of government, not a national government where states are nothing more than enforcement arms of the national government. …

Not really, they've been in the same spot with this for a long time. When they get a state Donald Trump won in 2016 on-board, wake me up, until then this has less electoral votes than Hillary Clinton received in 2016.

As Nate Silver said, they're about out of low-hanging fruit for their propaganda victories.

They only need to keep turning one state at a time to make it happen. If the come up the middle of a red state, during an election, they will move quickly to turn it blue.

They aren’t turning states; hence the fraud.

I know that. I was referring to the laws they pass, like legalizing drop boxes and ballot harvesting and legalizing illegals being able to vote.

Doesn't matter anymore...
With the addition of about 30 million MIVs to the dark voting rolls, no election is contestable...

The usual GOP circle jerk is getting underway early...

2020 was the final election that would even attempt to give a fake sense of honesty & legality...
With the ascendency of the current GOPers in the House, any expectation for the future being fair and honest is absurd...

Nowhere do we see or hear the GOP including attributes like "Constitution", "freedom", or "liberty" in any of their strategies, plans, or actions...

Their actions, ultimately, mostly include attributes like "cowardice", "incompetence", and "impotence"...

Don’t underestimate the Rat scumbags. They’ve succeeded in establishing mail-in voting.

Despite the odds and complications, it most certainly matters.

Capture one or both of the political parties in the United States.

— Communist goal #15
A bit much to expect the Republican wing of the Uniparty to use words such as “Constitution”, “freedom”, “liberty” et al that contradict their true goals. Right?

Dear Robert. Precisely because we don’t have a democracy but instead have a Republic we will always need the Electoral College. Pure democracy sets us up for tyranny of the majority. That’s why the nation was set up as one.

“…the entire process of selecting our president… threatens the foundation of our democracy.”

And yet, we still have a 'democracy' because of it. Frickin' Clymer.

The democrats have been after the electoral college since I was a young’un. I thought they had given up on it, silly me. I need to remember, the rats never give up on anything, they just attack from another angle.

They'd have Rule of the Mob just long enough to usher in The Rule of the Communist Party, a la China.

The liberals just want the entire nation under the thumb of California and New york, and they will not stop until they get it.

a national popular vote would force candidates to campaign across the entire nation.

Nonsense. Who would go to WY when there is CA and millions of votes per whistle stop?

We already see the manipulation of the vote in such blue states as PA and CA...among many others through unaccountable mail in voting and ballot harvesting.

If we don’t stop these bass turds literally and physically, we might as well just stfu. The fight will be over.

It's the single most important part of the Constitution that saves us from a dictator....and we're not far removed from one at the present.

The Dems were actually able to thwart the electoral college intentions by being very specific to getting out the vote in areas which would be pro Dem...and could flip a state.

We all saw it happen...all of a sudden....areas with high Dem registrations would flip the totals.

It was something that the writers of the Constitution feared..."What happens when there are more "have nots" than "haves".

See 55 Men and the constitution by Rodell.
