The headline is misleading. (It also isn’t the actual headline of the article, but it’s possible it was changed.) His legal team asked that she be disqualified because she is in the New Mexico House of Representatives. (The real reason might be because she is a Republican, but the reason given in court is not.)
I’m no expert in in the New Mexico constitution, but it sounds like they might have a point.
They do already. The J6 protester with the funny hat was sentenced to 42 months in PRISON for trespassing. The woman in Portland who threw a Molotov Cocktail into a police SUV with 5 officers inside was sentenced to 33 HOURS of COMMUNITY SERVICE for her crime.
