“3. If Putin will not agree to this, inform him that military aid to Ukraine will be without limits with the exceptions of nuclear weapons”

Why? Seriously, why? We would need 32 trillion just to be able to say we are flat broke. Why should any American citizen get financially raped for Ukraine?
What has Ukraine ever done for us? They sent spies into the white house and got Trump impeached. They bribed half of the congress. They are the main torchbearers for nazism in the modern world.

Why should we go broke for that corrupt hell hole? Just walk away and apologize for causing the whole thing.

Putin might be content to conquer all of Donetsk and then he will ask Zelensky for a cease fire. Zelensky might agree because his armed forces will become depleted by then.

Maybe, and that would be great for the most part, now. But while I certainly don't trust the Russians, I do believe them when they say for them the time for negotiations has passed. Biden basically already offered them that deal recently and they said forget it, as they now believe they can wear NATO out in a drawn out slugfest and are willing to pay what they believe that cost would be to ultimately prevail.

Whether that happens remains to be seen, however, as Russia falsely thought they could take the whole country quickly, in the beginning, and that obviously did not pan out. But it looks to me like we're headed for a long term trench war, until someone simply capitulates, and no quick settlements. I don't really see the war leaving the borders of Ukraine, thankfully, but who really knows if it's a long grind out and someone gets desperate near the end.

Kind of like WWI except it's just in Ukraine. The trench warfare isn't going to favor Ukraine. The Russians have a lot of artillery. I assume that will destroy the tanks that the West is going to give to Ukraine. Then they will get F-15s next. The Russians can threaten to nuke NATO if we continue to arm Ukraine. Biden is our President so Putin might be willing to risk a nuclear war.

Ukraine can’t take it unless we join them in the fight—send the USN and a lot of men and planes. Then it will fall but it will be like a new D-Day. It would make a great Naval Base for the US Navy! We would dominate the Black Sea. I fear the cost would be high.

Ukraine has had years to build those trenches already and there are a lot in place. According to most estimates Russia has twice as many tanks as any other country, most of which are on their Western border, but their border is huge and tanks aren’t as dominant on the battlefield as they once were, nor are Russia’s the best to begin with.

Like most wars, it will ultimately depend on who wants to expend the most men, materials, and money over the territory, but I don’t seem the same commitment in NATO to defend Ukraine as there would be to defend an actual NATO state. Nor should there be.

What neocon clowns don’t understand is that Russia is deadly serious about NATO encroachment and if there isn’t a peaceful settlement that they cam agree to the. Russia will either retake all of the Ukraine or they will nuke it. It is that simple. Our neocon war-clowns are lighting fires they cannot out out.

If the Biden Regime is dumb enough to send a fleet of ships into the Black Sea they had better be ready with some serious anti-missile defenses because the Black Sea is too small to for those ships to be far enough away from land based missiles. If there is one thing Russia is doing well with it is missiles.

Ukraine is expending the most men. Their defense of Bakhmut goes against the NATO plan to push south.

By the time the new armor gets deployed there won’t be enough Ukrainian regulars to support any push to Crimea.

When Kissinger is calling peace talks — its over.

Crimea is as much a part of Russia as is Moscow. Ukraine would have to defeat Russia and have an unconditional surrender.

If Putin goes tactical nuke in Ukraine, you want us to nuke Russia? Insane. We have no treaty obligation to defend Ukraine. The loss of tens of millions of Americans to defend Ukraine’s sovereignty is not a price Americans are willing to pay.

What is most excellent about classified briefings is that any source can make chit up.

Translation: Ukraine could take Crimea but we don’t want them to.

“That gravy train will stop long before Russia is evicted from Crimea.”

That’s a prediction without any backup. Except there is backup, since we know that the West has a limited supply of weapons, of which a huge portion has already gone to Ukraine, and that the weapons production capability of the West is next to nothing and will take YEARS to step up...and then only if our many enemies will sell us the raw materials needed to make the weapons.

“If there is one thing Russia is doing well with it is missiles.”

We never bothered trying to come up with defenses against Hypersonics because we thought that the Russians (and Chinese) were TOO STUPID to actually get them to work...so yes, anything we float that threatens Russia will simply go bang without the people on board ever getting a shot off.

” The loss of tens of millions of Americans to defend Ukraine’s sovereignty is not a price Americans are willing to pay.”

They won’t be around to complain, and the US losses will be in the hundreds of millions (Russian losses will be in the 10s of millions, far less, for a number of reasons - but yes, Russia will have to rebuild Red Square and the Kremlin after it ends).

Some individuals on that committee will meet trouble ahead. They abused the purpose of such classified briefings.

Any attempts by Zelensky to take Crimea will make the war exponentially worse.

The United States is damaging its capability to defend itself.
