A group of California police officers shot and killed a double amputee on Thursday as he tried to run away from them on his stumps after jumping out of his wheelchair.
The three cops from Huntington Park Police Department were filmed firing at least eight shots at Anthony Lowe Jr., a 36-year-old father-of-two.
His family say he lost the lower halves of his legs recently after an altercation with police in Texas.
Lowe Jr. had just stabbed someone unprovoked, according to the police department, and was trying to run away from two officers on Thursday.
First, they tried to Tase him, chasing him as he ran down the sidewalk, away from the wheelchair he had leaped from
He turned and tried to hurry away from them, clutching a large butcher's knife in one hand.
A second police car arrived, from which a third cop emerged. Within 15 seconds of the third officer arriving, they fired multiple shots, shooting Lowe in the upper torso.
Once he was on the ground lying on his stomach, they placed him in handcuffs.
'The suspect was tased at least twice by Huntington Park Officers but the deployment of the taser was ineffective
Lowe Jr. later died at the scene. His family is now demanding answers from the police department.
The officers involved have not yet been named

I don’t understand why police officers do the stupid things they do.
Here they had a Handicapped suspect in possession of a knife that he allegedly used on a previous victim.
The suspect was fleeing on his two stumps. Instead of Deescalating the issue by Spraying the suspect with pepper spray they shot him multiple times killing him.
I’ll say this, the Police sure know how to make enemies.
Like a guy with stumps where his legs should be could throw a knife with any force or accuracy...
Probably they were LEOs fresh from a training stint at the FBI academy...

In the 70s I don’t believe we had ‘shoot to kill’ except in rare, dangerous circumstances. It took one cop to disarm a suspect by shooting them in the leg, arm or shoulder. A man running on his stumps would have elicited a different response. Now it takes a group of cops, all shoot to kill for a single handicap man.

Probably cops have killed for sport for a long time. Enjoy killing people? Become a cop. Decades ago, it wasn’t recorded.

It’s because people support cops to act this way. Many people would refuse to convict killer cops in a trial, so sick people become cops to kill. Read this thread, so many morons defending them.
