One of my funnest jobs to help me work through college was as a floral deliveryman. Saturdays were generally half-days unless it was before a major holiday.

One such Saturday, I got back into the shop at around 11:40 am for the usual 20 minutes or so to tidy up and prepare for closing.

But this particular day the girls had a fancy floral arrangement they needed me to deliver to a trailer court on the north side of town in a hurry. As I approached the address, I could hear an angry woman berating her husband and breaking things. She took a brief break to come to the door when I rang the bell.

There was an instant change in mood as I handed her the arrangement and she exclaimed "Oh, honey! You remembered!" I beat a hasty retreat before a serious fight turned into some serious nookie.
