Kemp done being underestimated, aims to steer GOP past Trump

Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp is done being underestimated.

Having vanquished both a Donald Trump-backed Republican challenger and Democratic star Stacey Abrams to win reelection, Kemp is looking to expand his influence in his second term, free from the caricature of the gun-toting, pickup-driving, migrant-catching country boy that emerged during his first campaign for governor.

A new vision of Kemp steering his party toward a non-Trumpian conservatism made its debut in his November victory speech after it became clear that he had defeated Abrams by a much larger margin in their rematch than he had in their tight 2018 matchup.

“This election proves that when Republicans stay focused on real-world solutions that put hardworking people first we can win now, but also in the future, y’all,” Kemp said.

Kemp pledged that night to “stay in the fight” and followed with concrete steps: He kept his political operation running and lent it to the unsuccessful Senate runoff campaign of Herschel Walker, while forming a federal political action committee that lets the governor influence races for Congress and president. He hasn’t ruled out running for the U.S. Senate in 2026 or even seeking the White House.

Beyond his own advancement, Kemp’s victory could provide a blueprint for Republicans in competitive states after voters rejected many of the Trump-molded candidates in 2022. It’s a less showy approach, aimed at luring independents and moderates while still achieving conservative policy goals.

“If Republicans looking forward are focused on winning, I think a lot of folks will be calling Gov. Kemp and wanting his advice, but also trying to replicate the things he did here,” said Cody Hall, Kemp’s political adviser. …

Replicate the steal? Yes; I’ve heard repetitive calls to do that right on FR.

I would never vote for Kemp in any election. Furthermore, I’d urge everyone I know not to vote for him.

Trump served us well but he is finished. We need to find a new champion. I’m not suggesting it’s Kemp, but we need to get past Trump and move on.

Kemp, Rattenburger and cronies are in cahoots with the Dems. Their latest project is "ranked choice voting" for Georgia. It's how the Deep State controls the outcomes.

How so specifically is he finished?

Off topic. Never mind the implicit fraud denial.

Kemp is not going to steer the GOP base away from Trump, and next time around Republicans should not use Lin Wood in Georgia or anywhere else.

(Hopefully back on topic ;)

You don't have to vote for Kemp anymore. He's now a gun-totin', pickup-drivin', migrant-catchin', vote-stealin' country boy

Kemp was helped into the limelight by Trump, same as DeSantis.

Another backstabber.

When a newcomer gets into high office, a thousand new “friends” pop out of the woodwork that didn’t care about the newcomer before, and they all carry boatloads of $$$.

Kemp sucks, and yes, I live in Georgia.

He promised permitless carry the first time around, then had Dennis Ralston kill it until the next election came around so he could have it fresh in everyone’s mind for this past election.

He doesn’t mind playing with folks until it benefits him.

That might make him a shrewd politician, but he’s still just a wishy-washy Republican.

If they go to ranked choice voting in Georgia, it is finished.

So i see the left and deep state has done well to turn you from Trump. This country will never be great again without Trumps kind of leadership. People that fall off the Trump train apparently have very small brains and can’t stand up for themselves and this Nation. Thanks for nothing!

Kemp is a Lying Traitor. He sold his state down the river for ChiCom Money.

Don’t kid yourself, this is far more widespread and far larger problem than anyone wants to discuss.

This does not just apply to government officials, it applies to bankers, officials in Multi National Companies and to Insurance company officers. I have seen it.

Go ask your banker or insurance broker, do you know anything about ESG? If they answer yes, they are on the take.

ESG is cover for the ChiCom Social Credit enforced slavery.

We need to wake up. And do it now.

Klaxon Alarm.

Trump has no path to the White House in 2024.

He will not flip a single state that he lost in '20. He'd be lucky to even hold on to the ones he won.

It's not 2016 anymore. Trump is not inspirational. He is angry, sullen, and all the energy is gone.
