When people deflect like you just did, it means they are unable or unwilling to deal with a comment directly. Your deflection to Reagan does that. Reagan was an excellent human being. If he was a difficult guy to have as a dad, only his children can say.

I know for certain that Reagan would never have said this on broadcast television three days after the destruction of the World Trade Center while thousands of people were still unaccounted for by their frantic and panicking families:

What often happens in powerful families is that the father is very neglectful of his children. He just assumes that, if there are no very obvious problems, that their children are fine.

Jerry Falwell Sr. may have been a great preacher and great pastor, but it would appear that he wasn’t the best of fathers.
