I suffered with it for 30 yrs before I started taking meds. The medication is a lifesaver. I tried everything. As for vitiman D, I take that too.
Its so easy to just say exercise by someone who has never suffered from it. Exercise is not a cure all

Exercise is not a cure all
Of course it isn't, but I can attest that, for me, it has a measurable effect, so much so that whenever I am in a funk, especially if some significant misfortune has just occurred, getting serious exercise is my go-to treatment. The exercise has to be sufficiently strenuous, however, at least 45-minutes to an hour of something that makes me sweat profusely (hiking uphill, running, or, in the old days, sparring). The endorphins alone have a dramatic effect on mood.
Also, if you take vitamin D, my understanding is that you need to take K2 also to help the body process it. Or you could just eat leafy green vegetables and get out into the sun.
