Nicotine blocks receptors that are also used by the C19 spike protein. Nicotine has been shown to be preventative for Parkinson’s.
What the control freaks hate is the odor and the tar film that accumulates in smoking areas. One person I know who quit decades ago says he still enjoys catching a whiff from other people’s smoking. While Puritans complain that vaped nicotine, which is odorless, is nauseating to be around.
Meanwhile, the legal pot gets stronger and now people end up with a syndrome from the stronger weed that makes pot smoking really uncomfortable and they have to quit.
Don’t forget the E! Explosives!
The story I recalled was from 1989, so it was quite a long time ago.
The prison could at least give them Nicorette lozenges or patches to keep the prisoners quiet.
Truth, if cigarettes had as much nicotine as God intended the plant to have, and they kept out all chemicals not natural to the plant, people would smoke less cigarettes and skip the stuff that really messes you up. It isn’t then nicotine per se, it is the actual smoke that smokes your lungs like a country ham. That is what causes emphysema. Cancer is peoples choice and you can’t protect them from everything.
