I have been smoking Cuban cigars imported from Europe for years—tax free.
If they were legal they would be taxed like they are in places like Canada—and cost five times as much.
(Of course these days the Cuban economy has collapsed and there is a worldwide shortage and exploding prices—but I stocked up when they were inexpensive and widely available since I am one of those “evil hoarders”. :-) )

The same people, who try to push marihuana and other drugs on people are trying to ban cigarettes.

There’s something about nicotine that bothers liberals that practically no other drug has the same effect. I often joke that the devil or demons must hate nicotine, otherwise why would Democrats be so riled up about it.

I used to work security with a fellow who was also a prison guard who told me this story:
Some do-gooder lawmaker in Richmond crafted a bill to outlaw tobacco product in Virginia prisons.
The prison guards’ union gave a resounding “hell no” to that idea. The prisoners would become even more violent without nicotine.

I started rolling my own about three years ago. I buy a middle grade tobacco and they Zig-Zag tubes which are a little bit pricier. I’ve estimated my costs work out to right about $1.00 x pack. I’ve saved thousands.
The prisons near me are "drug free" and that means nicotine Pretty sure you can get anything else. I knew someone who screened all incoming mail/packages. She was forced out cause she was not corruptable
