Case/Incident #22-18836
Just after 2:30 p.m. today, Kirkland Police Department (KPD) responded to several reports of a suspicious incident at the DeYoung Pavilion on the campus of EvergreenHealth Medical Center.
A patient who arrived for an appointment at the DeYoung Pavilion was in possession of a firearm spring and barrel. Upon contact, the person did not have a functioning weapon.
A hospital staff member who saw the firearm spring and barrel reported it to security, who then notified KPD.
The incident set off the building alarm, which prompted evacuation of the DeYoung Pavilion, not the main Medical Center building.
The surrounding streets were closed as police did a security check of the building.
No active threat was found.
KPD received more than 900 calls to 911 in two hours about this incident.
I saw someone at cabellas with 9mil ammo! Made shivers run up my spine.
Imagine what would have happened if he were seen reading his NRA magazine!
What could have happened was, a person was cleaning his Glock. Had chest pains (possibly vax related.) Put barrel and recoil spring assembly in his pocket in order to render the gun harmless should his kids pick it up while he was gone. Rushed to the hospital by his wife, girlfriend, or domestic partner. Was stripped down at the hospital and in the process the barrel and spring fell out of his pocket. Everyone of course freaked out.
A barrel and spring is about halfway to a zip gun, but not dangerous by themselves.
Your lungs should have been quaking.
The person probably carried a firearm, and knew they could not bring it into the hospital. So, they disassembled it so as to not leave a working firearm in their vehicle.
Makes sense to me.
Have you ever seen the insides of a semi=auto pistol?
Lung PoppinPearls ?
.
Clutches Pearls.
What an ignorant question. I was merely making fun of the idea of someone wandering around a facility with a bunch of gun parts - it could be lawnmower parts instead and it would still be weird. I assumed it was a typical news story about guns where they garbled everything. I never saw so many people who evidently need reading lessons!
Explain how I misread “I’m not sure what is meant by a “firearm spring and barrel.”
