The Military Situation in the Ukraine—An Update April 11,2022
The Postil ^ | April 11, 2022 | Jaques Bard

Posted on 04/15/2022 11:46:14 AM PDT by caww

As of March 25, 2022, our analysis of the situation confirms the observations and conclusions made in mid-March. (Part 1)

The vagueness maintained in the West about the situation of the Ukrainian forces maintains the illusion of a possible Ukrainian victory. Thus, instead of encouraging a negotiation process, the West seeks to prolong the war. This is why the EU and some of its member countries have sent weapons and are encouraging the civilian population and volunteers of all kinds to go and fight, often without training and without any real command structure—with deadly consequences.

The image we have of the situation and of the Ukrainian forces is based exclusively on data provided by Kiev. It masks the profound deficiencies of the Ukrainian leadership, even though it was trained and advised by NATO military.

You don’t win a war with bias—you lose it. And that’s what is happening. Thus, the Russian coalition was never “on the run” or “stopped” by heroic resistance—it simply did not attack where it was expected. This is why the West has thus become—volens nolens—the main architect of the Ukrainian defeat that is taking shape.

Today, the perception propagated by our media is that the Russian offensive has broken down; that Vladimir Putin is crazy, irrational and therefore ready to do anything to break the deadlock in which he supposedly finds himself..... Yet there is absolutely no indication that the Russians are using such weapons. Besides, the Russians finished destroying their stockpiles in 2017, while the Americans have not yet destroyed theirs.

In the current atmosphere, all the conditions are now met for an incident to happen that would push the West to become more involved, in some form, in the Ukrainian conflict (a “false-flag” incident).

As the author has stated ...”in reality, we are not trying to help the Ukraine, but to fight Russia…..It is easy to be combative with the blood of others”....

Can anyone point to a “winner” in the Ukraine no matter what happens or what is true?

The Ukrainian people are losing their lives, homes, and infrastructure.

The Russian people are losing their sons and what little wealth they possess (unless you are one of the 500 oligarchs).

The whole world is losing economically and is once again under the threat of nuclear war because a bunch of meddling neo-con bureaucrats and people like Soros USED the Ukraine to play games and make money.

I can’t see any winners...... just misery, heartbreak, and great danger to our own nation that is seldom mentioned.

Putin is not a nice person but he made it abundantly clear about what Russia would and would not tolerate in Ukraine. Our government has played games there for years feeding the corruption. The Euros have played games there for years feeding the corruption.

The “West” lead the Ukrainian people down a primrose path of lies and false promises and here we are......

I look back on my life and all the lies of the neo-con’s that I believed and repeated and I am ashamed. It is easy to point out the sins of Putin in this conflict but most of our nation (and Europe) are completely oblivious to how we incubated the rot that caused it.

Even Bush Sr., a Cold War neo-con, was spot-on in his assessment of the Ukraine when the Cold War ended. Had we stayed out of there and not fed the snakes it would have prevented the misery.

You probably need to get past a wining - losing line of thinking. It’s definatley not about that. When you do you’ll be able to read articles like this with a better understanding.

If this had been about the Ukrainian people then the Minsk agreements would have been carried out by Zelensky - but it never was his decision to make. He’s not running the operations there - we are along with Nato.

I don’t disagree but I see a lot of “winning” and “losing” talk here on FR.

My point was that there are not really any winners no matter what happens and there is still much possible downside beyond the borders of the Ukraine for everyone.

It’s a mess. It’s sad and tragic what happened there and the pain is felt by all sides.

I feel sorry for both the Ukrainians AND Russian people. They have no more say in their affairs than you and I do here in the US.

FRegards

The people in Donbass will certainly see this as a win for them since they've been under attack since 2014.

Russia will see it as a mission accomplished if it reaches the objectives Putin stated and set out to do and thus far looks like he'll reach those.

Zelensky certainly has no room at all for anything but his spokesman tours. His people died every day and few of it's citizens who fought and died will see this as a victory. He encouraged a whole heap of false hope in it's citizens - when he could have agreed to the terms of Minsk as everybody wanted him to.

Both Ukraine and Russia soldiers died and a loss to both sides - but I hold Zelensky (and US) responsible for the Isis thugs and others like them he invited into his country who sadistically abused the citizens and soldiers.

Zelensky could have simply followed the Minsk Agreement that the Ukrainian government signed. All that would have meant would have been local autonomy for Luhansk and Donetsk. Not a big deal. Instead, he immediately broke that agreement and continued shelling the place for years....at the cost of thousands of lives there.

Eventually whether because the Ukes were planning to invade those two regions to crush them or because the Russians falsely believed they were going to do so, this war started. The bottom line is Ukraine is going to lose. They simply do not have nearly the money or the weapons or the manpower Russia does. If he cared about his people he would agree to terms now instead of getting more of his people killed and getting even worse terms in the future that he had no choice but to agree to. But he obviously doesn’t care how many Ukrainians die.

Probably the Russians will attempt to break out and encircle the Ukrainian forces in the east within the next couple of weeks. Both sides are preparing for it.

When that happens we’ll all see who is likely to emerge as the winner. For Russia to claim a win, they need to hang on to what they now have, which is their land bridge from Crimea to Russia proper. Ukraine must push them back at least to where they were February 23. If it settles into a stalemate, Russia wins. Only if Ukraine can break the siege as they did in the north can they claim victory. So we’ll all see very soon.

Two things that I see:

1. Eurofools are screaming to shut down ALL natgas, oil and coal from Russia totally. When that happens, the Europeeing Union economy is going to get dinged HARD - but you can't explain economics to Greenies or neocon zealots.

2. When the spigots are shut off, Ukraine is going to lose the flow of energy Spice from Russia across their territory. Maybe they can replace those billions with a cottage industry of knitting doilies and wool socks for their pals in NATO and the Europeeing Union.

It's hilarious watching tiny countries like the Baltic states posture about going all LNG, "free from the tyranny of cheap Russ-hing natgas!!".

Wait'll the big Euro countries get into the line waiting for LNG, Lithuania. You'll find out how much LNG really costs...

They simply can’t do it - by the time they have anything in place Ukraines war will be history - and Putin will detrmine if or not he still will do business with the Eu.

Personally I think Nato’s going to initiate outright war with Russia - but they’ll blame it on RUssia of course.
