The boy was identified as Thomas Siderio Jr., 12. Officers took him to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center where he was pronounced dead a few minutes later
•One of the four officers in the car was struck by shattered glass in the face and eye, and was treated and released, police said
•A video from Ring camera footage out of a door near the shooting captures what sounds like an officer exclaiming: 'I'm bleeding' just after shots fired
•In a statement Wednesday, police said the four plainclothes officers were in an unmarked car in south Philadelphia at about 7:20 p.m. Tuesday on a task force
•The officers said they saw two young males on a corner - one of whom appeared to be carrying a handgun - and recognized the older one
•The officers activated the car's emergency red and blue lights and then heard a gunshot and the rear passenger window shattering, police said
•The question has become as to whether Siderio or the other boy were armed and if they were the ones who had fired at police
•Though Police Commissioner Danielle Outlaw initially put the blame on Siderio, her deputy commissioner said he couldn't say anything definitively the next day

Well was he? And task force for what? The city of brotherly love and the police have to travel four to a car. Is Philly trying to beat out Chicago for an award of some kind? What a mess.
If the 12 year old was armed or with someone that is armed and the perps fired at the police then its open game.. !2 year olds can kill just as a adult can..
So, by your logic, the police can shoot anyone who is armed, even if they are legally armed and walking down the street?
in Detroit, the police had a special squad called the “BIG FOUR”...4 huge cops cruising in a big black unmarked car. These guys were bad asses...they were blamed for the 1967 riots in Detroit....they were finally disbanded in the 1980’s...
This is a potential disaster. No BLM narrative a real police murder.
You just skipped right over that “and the perps fired at the police” part, didn’t ya?
That is the quote from the Police Commissioner.
I was responding to his post, not the article. But, I’m not going to go by just one article. They get it wrong too many times.
I did a word search in the article but failed to uncover the above phrase; however, I did find two other interesting ones:
The question has become as to whether Siderio or the other boy were armed and if they were the ones who had fired at police
and,
but now admit they don't know if the boy even had a weapon
Obviously a pathetic attempt to coverup. Based on this, in a jury, I would vote guilty of felony murder.
“The officers said they saw two young males on a corner - one of whom appeared to be carrying a handgun - and recognized the older one”
The excerpt does not say whether Siderio was one of the two young males. Has it been established that he was?
Never mind. Headline answered it.
However, Naish said that police could not definitively say Wednesday that Siderio had shot into the police vehicle, or whether he had pointed the weapon at officers as he fled.
Shouldn't they be able to test for gunshot residue? I guess cross-contamination is a big problem with this type of testing, but if the residue counts are high it would seem important to know.
Following...
I do not know all the facts other than what is colored in the media narrative so I will withhold judgment. But this is a white boy so if the police are ultimately proved at fault, do not expect a whole lot of outrage or riots.
*** Philly Metro Ping ***
She is named "Danielle Outlaw".
“five more in the clip”??? Boy, these cops sure know their firearms.
Got one
