The boy was identified as Thomas Siderio Jr., 12. Officers took him to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center where he was pronounced dead a few minutes later

I did a word search in the article but failed to uncover the above phrase; however, I did find two other interesting ones:

and,

Obviously a pathetic attempt to coverup. Based on this, in a jury, I would vote guilty of felony murder.

The excerpt does not say whether Siderio was one of the two young males. Has it been established that he was?

Naish said officers recovered a 9mm semiautomatic handgun equipped with a laser that had been reported stolen. He said the gun had one bullet in the chamber and five more in the clip.

However, Naish said that police could not definitively say Wednesday that Siderio had shot into the police vehicle, or whether he had pointed the weapon at officers as he fled.

Shouldn't they be able to test for gunshot residue? I guess cross-contamination is a big problem with this type of testing, but if the residue counts are high it would seem important to know.

I do not know all the facts other than what is colored in the media narrative so I will withhold judgment. But this is a white boy so if the police are ultimately proved at fault, do not expect a whole lot of outrage or riots.
