It's looking like the Ukraine military planners have prepared wisely. The Javelin and mlaw anti Armour missiles plus manpad shoulder fired anti aircraft missiles are wrecking Putin's plans. The western airforce could end this current situation in a couple of days. What would Purina be willing to escalate to is the problem. But right now every current and former A10 pilot is chomping at the bit. This is the exact cold war scenario they've been training for for 50 years.

Another week of this and the Politburo will stab the KGB dwarf with a poison umbrella

A competent president could dust off the Lend-Lease Act strategy, and lend Ukraine some A-10's. They could then pay the pilots. The results would be spectacular.

After all Russian fighters and SA systems had been destroyed - a highly problematic situation.

That would be the best outcome. And for his mini-me Lukashenko as well.

It’s interesting that in the attack on Kharkiv last night the Russians relied on light humvee type vehicles.
I wonder if they know that slow moving tanks will get chewed up if they enter the cities.

Get them both in the same place and shoot them with Makarovs, several times each.
Kinda like Tony and the boys did with Big P****, except not in a boat down below the waterline.
Maybe in his own office, and let the results spatter where it will.

Obviously a western air campaign would include everything required. Ironically, all the assets required, air to air fighters, wild weasel sam suppressors, tankers, awac and jstar are basically all there as support for A10’s and attack helicopters. Which ultimately are there for the grunts.. All of that COULD happen in a few hours. All of that capability is close by and loaded up...

Everyone in the military knows tanks lose in urban warfare.

They could use a Claire Chennault and the AVG type set up. Certainly, Putin would declare that an act of US aggression even though he has a long track record of using his own mercs for (not so) plausible deniability.

I missed that detail.
My wife and I were talking about something the other day and I made a Sopranos reference...
She said OK, we're gonna have to just go back and watch the whole thing again.

Putin will dub just about anything he doesn’t like an “act of US aggression”. He uses that like “that’s racist” like a lib.
Did you read all of his declaration of war closely? It is hard to read the translation but it is a rant of someone fed up with being the weak man in the world compared to what the Soviets once were. Never saw a little man with power that did not have a Napoleon complex. He has lost his marbles this time and acting out his frustration.
The Politburo better take him out if they know what is good for them. He has made himself popular with the people but I wonder how popular he can be when they are locked out of the world?
In a bunker in the Urals. It is a good place to die.
