I’ve long believed that creativity in children begins in earnest at a good “science & industry” museum. A lot of what they do is just display phenomena in interesting ways, but if you *ponder* what is happening, it opens up a lot of channels of understanding.
I’ve only seen one museum of illusion, however, and it was in Europe.
