Andrew Cuomo enjoyed a day out on the water with his Siberian Shepherd mix 'Captain' after reports that he allegedly tried to give the difficult dog away and left him behind before moving out of the governor's mansion last month.
The 63-year-old disgraced governor posted a photo of himself rubbing noses with the dog on Instagram Tuesday morning along with the caption, 'The fall bass run is coming & Captain is ready.'
Cuomo was likely referring to the prime fishing season for bass, which feed near shallow waters in the fall ahead of the colder winter months.
The lovey-dovey display comes a month after a report surfaced alleging that Cuomo left the dog behind after he moved to his sister's house and asked his staffers if anyone wanted to keep him.
Cuomo announced his resignation on August 10, a week after a report by Attorney General Letitia James recounted 11 instances of sexual harassment against women.
His term ended on August 23. He was succeeded by his lieutenant Kathy Hochul.
