Earth sizzled in July and became the hottest month in 142 years of recordkeeping, U.S. weather officials announced.
As extreme heat waves struck parts of the United States and Europe, the globe averaged 62.07°F (16.73°C) last month, beating out the previous record set in July 2016 and tied again in 2019 and 2020. the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration said Friday. The margin was just .02°F (.01°C).
The last seven Julys, from 2015 to 2021, have been the hottest seven Julys on record, said NOAA climatologist Ahira Sanchez-Lugo. Last month was 1.67°F (0.93°C) warmer than the 20th century average for the month.
“In this case first place is the worst place to be,” NOAA Administrator Rick Spinrad said in a press release. “This new record adds to the disturbing and disruptive path that climate change has set for the globe.”
“This is climate change,” said Pennsylvania State University climate scientist Michael Mann. “It is an exclamation mark on a summer of unprecedented heat, drought, wildfires and flooding.” …

Same, actually, in Alabama, of all places!
Haven’t had one day (so far) that peaked 100, with the hottest (yesterday) at 97.
Most of this summer has seen lots of rain and many cloudy days that kept things cool. The grass is still lush and green—haven’t had to water all summer.
Now we have not one but two separate tropical storms, Fred and Grace, coming our way to drench us even further.
I’m loving it. My tomatoes are usually finished by mid-August but are still producing fruit.
And here in Texas we probably had the coolest July in 50 years, and a wet one on top of that.
There is a soppy in an inlet In the LI Sound where there used to be lobsters. The guys used to put traps. There are no lobsters there anymore. People say it’s from global warming. But I guess it could be from something else
The pond where we used to skate there won’t freeze. I think it’s because in 92 when the perfect storm came through it got som briny sound water in there but I don’t know
Where’s the picture of Goebbels?
Here in southern NH we had the wettest July EVER. We had over 11 inches of rain.
Broke the record. For as long as they have been keeping track.
We normally get 2.5” in July.
Finally in August we got summer.
The last two weekends it was beautiful.
I actually swam in the ocean the last two days.
A refreshing 65 degrees.
Bullshyte. July was the coolest month I have ever witnessed in one of the hottest places in the USA. Lovely weather. Yesterday and this week as well. We are easily running 10-15 degrees COOLER than normal with a massive increase in rainfall. If this is the results of “Goreball Worming” bring it the F@ on and don’t let any lefttard idiot stop it.
And of course these morons are taking temperature readings from tar-covered roofs on college campuses.
That is a bald faced lie. This July was not even close to being the hottest in my lifetime. Then hottest July I have ever experienced was in 1980.
Yeah, if this is Global Warming in Texas, can we have more? July was the coolest I can remember in 30 years. August is looking to be the same.
And remember, when the Gorebul Warmists speak of records, they have been caught repeatedly lowering the original data in those records to make it look warmer today.
The official temperature in Dallas reached 100 only one day this summer.
Dallas temperature was at least 100 degrees 71 days in 2011.
I don’t believe a single word of it.
Not one.
The instruments specified by NOAA are not accurate to .01 degrees F.

Maybe. It’s gotten to the point where I simply assume anything said by a media or government spokesman to be a lie unless I can prove the statement for myself.
Monitoring stations were deliberately moved. See the "odd sites" link on that page.
That is the same way my filters work.
FEAR and INTIMIDATION is all they know.
Fortunately, conservative are often those who espouse “individualism,” which they HATE, hate, hate.
And we are strong and not easily fooled.
And?
How long have they been keeping records?
And where it’s warmer than normal for one area, somewhere else it’s cooler than normal because that’s what happens when the jet stream dips.
