Advocates for a safe supply of drugs handed out heroin, cocaine and methamphetamine outside the Vancouver Police Department Wednesday (July 14) afternoon.
City Councillor Jean Swanson, along with members of the Drug User Liberation Front (DULF) and the Vancouver Area Network of Drug Users (VANDU), distributed the free drugs outside the Vancouver Police Department.
The collective action demonstrates the "life-saving potential of a community-led response to the crisis of prohibition in Canada" as a necessary alternative to Vancouver's proposed model of decriminalization, explains a news release.
The drugs that were handed out were tested via "FTIR spectrometry and immunoassay, and are free of fentanyl, fentanyl analogues, benzodiazepines, and other harmful adulterants."
Even better, all the extra money that came from defunding the police can pay for it !
I’m not currently a drug addict, but meh, if it’s free! /s
People on those drugs can’t work or do anything remotely called productive. So other people are taxed heavily to pay the way for the slackers.
What incentive is there to go to work?
There must be a catch?
Oh right, hard drugs destroy your insides and little by little you become a burden on everyone else.
“People on those drugs can’t work or do anything remotely called productive. So other people are taxed heavily to pay the way for the slackers.”
whenever they do a sampling of the waste water near the DC capitol it is full of cocaine metabolites, so yeah I kinda get your point.
“People on those drugs can’t work or do anything remotely called productive”
As I understand it someone is busy as a beaver burning Churches up there
its not life saving....its death delaying for a bit but be assured, these people will certainly die and probably miserable lives...
if someone wants to jump off a cliff, and laws prevent me from stopping them, then what are we to do....
I could use a little free cocaine. I need to clean my house.
“Free of….other adulterants.”
Oh, thank goodness!
Pure meth for all!
Canadian government proves again the lunacy of the liberal mindset
You make a good point. Programs like his one will turn non-users into users.
It’s kinda like the lie that the cigarette companies put out: We’re not advertising to get new smokers. We’re only advertising to get current smokers to change brands.
Last time I was in Vancouver was about 12-13 years ago. Even then, downtown they had “safe zones” where addicts could trade in old needles for new ones and shoot up right in front of Medical professionals. Then they would stumble out and find an ally or park bench to crash down on.
And I didn’t see any offer or outreach to help anyone get clean, to break the habit. It was just an offer to continue on safely. No change, just “be safe”.
It was sad and pathetic.
Told you all.
The people who were really pushing for MJ were in reality wanting to turn the USA into Amsterdam.
I lived long enough in Portland to see the storm coming.
SF-Portland-Seattle is just the beginning.
Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada - not to be confused with Vancouver, Washington which is about 300 miles south.
So now instead of arresting drug dealers, the police become drug dealers.
I guess the only reason to arrest someone now for dealing or possession is to get rid of the competition.
What other proof do we need that the governments are looking to destroy the populace?
I just wonder who they think is going to provide the food, goods, and services they have come to think they are entitled to.
Went to Vancouver a few years ago. I have never seen so many street bums in my life.
“There must be a catch?”
Anyone who accepts the drugs will vote for those who will continue providing the drugs. The ones giving them will continue giving the drugs until they have absolute power, then they will stop.
Chinese own Vancouver, they are basically paying them back for the Opium Dens.
Brilliant idea!......not.
