A one hour flight from Las Vegas, Nevada to Stockton, California turned into a 17-hour trip
Allegiant Airlines flight 161 was scheduled to land in Stockton on Monday at 9:30 pm but was not cleared for landing due to an unmanned control tower
The plane was flown back to Las Vegas where it was turned away due to thunderstorms
Roughly 175 passengers were eventually deplaned at LAX and made to wait in a holding room without a bathroom
The flight to Stockton was then rescheduled for the next day as upset passengers were given $250 ticket vouchers and left to sort out their situation on their own.
'There was a guy that said, 'What do we do? Do we need to find hotel rooms, are we on our own?' And the gentleman said, 'Yes, as of right now, you're on your own.''

If they put me in a room without a bathroom, they would have had to replace the carpet.
You ain’t kidding. Who the hell takes a one-hour flight anywhere? You spend more time going through the TSA groping process than actually flying.
These days, most people would rather walk than enter an airport to fly anywhere, but it’s just not practical. They got us by the short-hairs if we want to go anywhere within a limited amount of time.
Have flown Allegiant many times the past 9 years from SC to FL visiting my parents and they visiting us. It’s been great and so convenient, and in all those years, have never experienced anything negative that I can recall. It’s a one-hour flight (Greenville to St. Pete/Clearwater), and the price can’t be beat.
Yep. Airlines schedule flights where landings will happen at some airports when the control tower is scheduled to be closed..
The demographics of super cheap Vegas junkets will answer your question.
US airlines compete by seeing who can get away with the worst service possible. The only other industry I can think of that does that is media. Unless, or course, you count the government.
I flew Allegiant once.
They have a good idea (small town airline) but lack the $ to make it attractive.
OK, I was going to chime in with “C-119 from Wichita to Chicago”, but I think your experience just might beat mine!

Amazing how a show about nothing relates to so many situations ; )
Save your Dixie Cubs, boys & girls.
If the South DOESN’T rise again, you’ll at least have your very own personal porta-potty when you fly on Allegiant
We just cancelled our 2nd vacay....that required a 3 hour (one way) flight....plus, at least two hours in airports...with masks.
Oh, and, the airlines just required all pilots to have their shots, or be grounded.
No thanks.
It’s been renamed....it’s now Harry Reid International Airport.
Right, and just imagine the quick turnaround time. Remember, while that e-plane is being recharged it’s an Aircraft On Ground, every bit as much as a normal plane with technical problems, and not earning revenue for the operators. But of course the feral government will be expected to cover any shortfall.
Maybe a statistical tie. Boxcars were called that for a reason. My respects for the torture you endured.
People who liked being groped?
So glad we decided to drive when we go to Vegas next month. I’ve been subjected to enhanced pat downs on 7 of the last 10 flights I’ve taken since 2017. The last one was in front of my grandchildren and was akin to digital rape!
The last time coming back from Orlando I was subjected to 2 assaults. My grandkids were freaking out and wondering if Grandma was a terrorist after all, so I requested a private room for the second assault, which actually brought tears to my eyes, it was that rough.
Ugh. That’s lame. Can’t stand Harry Reid.
“Could it be my 36 DDD chest?”
Weren’t you in a Russ Meyer movie back in the ‘70s ?
=running away=
