If you’re deciding to go to war, you should have a real plan to win. You shouldn’t rely on a Deus ex machina type event in order to win.
***Well, it looks like we’re into the extended phase of argumentation based upon how few other participants there are, and based on how long winded your current argument is. I agree with not relying upon a Deus Ex Machina event in order to win, but I disagree that you have even taken one further step to SHOW this is what it is rather than to gaslight the opposing side arguments.

Even assuming the very recent theory that one EMP blast can take out a country,
***one emp blast does not take out a country, it just knocks out electronic items for a several hundred mile radius. Hence, blue city dwellers would be more susceptible towards chaos than country bumpkin red states.

you would need a megaton weapon delivered on a ballistic missile to a certain height.
***You presume so much. You don’t need to wipe out ALL communications of your enemy, just enough to take advantage.

In other words, you’ll need to take over a US missile silo and figure out how to launch a missile without the launch codes, or win over a foreign state actor with the same capability and get them to risk global thermonuclear war for our sake.
*** more blathering on.

This would be the first “test EMP” since 1962 in Hawaii, and if it doesn’t entirely wipe out the US electric grid,
***again, your original premise is simply way off. Any EMP blast doesn’t have to take out your entire enemy state, just the sector you’re aiming to take military advantage of. They know it and we know it. Rural areas have an advantage in such an exchange, urban areas have a yuge disadvantage.

or even if it does, it will only enrage our enemies and ensure a harsh retribution.
***wuss

is impossible even before bullets start flying, because even now the Internet is easily choked.
***so what? We were a great nation before the internet came along. Your problem seems to be that you equate greatness with the current state of technology.

We are currently fighting and luzing against terrorists with 7th century ideology and 19th century technology.

Afterwards, the government will have no problem denetworking areas considered to be in rebellion, let alone the entire country. This has happened numerous times in other countries.
***I think you are simply full of bullshiite.

I don’t know what you mean by “the will to power”.

Because you don’t have it.
***Some other blather aphorism chearbullying bullshiiite nonsense.

Kevmo: They have trillions of dollars of high tech weaponry, and so will we.

cmj: Even allowing that our much poorer population might all chip in $10,000 a head for the war effort, that’s still only $740 billion, and what will we buy for our money? Where is the market? Will they ship FedEx?
***any 3rd year physics student can design and produce a nuke bomb. Especially since they know that it works.

Kevmo: They cannot afford to engage us because they cannot defend against short range cruise missile

cmj: Yes, they can, especially given that our numbers of missiles will be in the tens or dozens and theirs will be in the thousands, and that the missiles are better guided from centralized facilities which they will have and we won’t. But even still they could absorb many cruise missile hits, which are more tactical than strategic. It will only piss them off more.
***Your argument destroys itself, since they are centralized, we are decentralized. We take out their center with just one nuke, they’re in chaos and we still have cohesion.

Kevmo: or even suitcase nukes.

CMJ: With what fissile material, what testing labs, what technology?
***With whatever we can get our hands on. Anyone gives me $100k, I can do it. All they have to tell me is to hold onto it myself so I know they aint bullshiite terrorists or sumthin. One Yuge point you’re missing is that the KNOWLEDGE is already out there. We know where the fissile material is, and it almost entirely within those red zones.

Or are you relying on Russia to risk global nuclear war by supplying us with her own?
***Again you engage in hyoerbole in order to push your point. You should take a critical thinking class.

Al Qaeda and ISIS were not made of idiots, and they were unable to obtain these devices, in spite of having state sponsors (Pakistan and Iran). What makes you think we will have any better luck?
***Pakistan has nukes. If they wanted to arm those terrorist organizations, it would have been as easy as driving a long distance truck route. You’re ignoring what happened with the dissolution of the soviet union. Lotsa Nukes ended up on the open market. If our union dissolves, the same thing would happen. Hence, parity.

I don’t deny that we might be given one device—by the liberals, in order to justify a generation of subsequent atrocities after they thwart our dastardly “Nukepowder Plot”.
***I think yer kinda touched.

How can a divorce between makers and takes ever be amicable?? It’d be like the old song “She got the gold mine, I got the shaft!”

Why would a parasite secede from its host organism? Is that even possible?
