The Invitation to Secede Should be Extended on a County by County Basis
Admittedly a vanity post. | 2/5/2021 | Kevmo

Posted on 02/05/2021 11:55:38 AM PST by Kevmo

There continues to be a lot of talk about secession now.

I think the invitation to secede should last decades, and be extended on a county by county basis.

After 4 or 5 decades, we solidify the borders, and those blue enclave counties that haven't drained out will be treated with the same respect that other sovereign nation enclaves within the US have been treated, i.e. the Indian Reservations, which are still sovereign.

I think the invitation to secede should be extended to counties in Canada and Mexico as well, since we are forming a new country.

Not all divorces end up in knockdown dragout fights. Some end 'amicably'.

This subject of secession used to be taboo on Free Republic, but now there's a lot of freewheeling discussion about it.

The principal objection I hear is that this would be “too complicated.” Blood in the streets will be more complicated. Everyone’s 401k’s will be threatened. Smart and powerful people had better start thinking about ways to split it up.

an orderly, unrushed and amicable relaxing of the political ties that bind us together too tightly would be to everyone’s benefit

well except those who see that the moment of Empire is now upon us and don’t want to miss it....

I think the invitation to secede should be extended on a person to person basis.

That would be the way to hope, not the way to bet.

This is fantasy. The blue parts are precisely those who “see that the moment of Empire is now upon us and don’t want to miss it...” They will NEVER leave us alone, either here or anywhere else on earth.

It would only be complicated in the enclave county/countries. The coastal leftist shiiteholes would be as survivable as Portugal was against Spain. Look how big Brazil was compared to that tiny coastal country.

I know, I know: different times. But people still think very territorially and also tribally. We as a country have separated into 2 different tribes.

The question is who or what do you secede from?

Honestly it all is useless when the workings of Soros and the CCP has been soaking into every county for quite some time.

I don’t doubt that it will be complicated. I also don’t doubt that there will be violence no matter what. Some people will have to move, while others will just be unhappy. It cannot hold the way it is.

“The moment of empire is upon us”

Excellent wordsmithing. It reminds me of the crossing of the Rubicon river by Julius Caesar, wherein the Roman Republic counts its end and the Roman Empire began.

Reminds me of a post I made about Certifigate
https://freerepublic.com/focus/f-bloggers/2168149/posts?page=43#43

In the Bloggers & Personal forum, on a thread titled Certifigate Post Mortem , Kevmo wrote:
Here’s a hypothetical I posted at Intrade, which generated some insightful conversation.

Here’s a set of hypotheticals for you. Let’s say you’re a loyal Roman republican with 5 buddies watching Caesar cross the Rubicon with his army, and you know full well what that means for the Roman republic. What is your duty at that point?

Let’s say you’re a loyal German who believes in democracy and you see Hitler making tanks instead of VW’s as he has promised the peepull. What is your duty at that point?

Let’s say you’re a loyal american constitutionalist and you see a marxist usurper cheating his way to the presidency, you file a lawsuit and it gets thrown out of SCOTUS within a week of the inauguration. What is your duty at that point?

I know, I know... no one ever really addresses a good hypothetical. Here’s an example: If the sky were green, would more people have green eyes? Many people say stuff like, “of course the sky ain’t green” or they go into the physics behind why the sky ain’t green or they ask you why you aren’t in with the yellow-eyed crowd or they say green-eyed people are just monsters or all kinds of things, but they never really address the hypothetical. So I shouldn’t hold out any hope that you’d be different.

But at least I’m on record with trying to stop this constitutional travesty and if I wander back to my farm in the highlands rather than continue the fight through further futile Roman Empire politics, that’s my business. The only guy who survived in that movie of ‘300’ was the one whose job it was to tell the history.

The Puerto Rican Independence Movement ran several candidates but none of them won. They ran legally. There was a similar movement in Alaska.

Advocating for independence is not illegal but threatening to overthrow the Federal Government is.

I’ve said for some time now that there are clearly irreconcilable differences. If we don’t structure a divorce settlement NOW - we’re going to start killing each other.

Czech and Slovak republics broke from each other on friendly terms, as did many of the countries once in the USSR.

In any division of resources, we would have essentially economic and military parity with the blue state.

It would be like when Russia would regularly fly Bear Bombers into Alaska to test our reaction times. We used to do the same thing until Russia shot down an off course airliner Korean Air flight 007

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Korean_Air_Lines_Flight_007

Then both sides pulled back a bit from the shenanigans.

Given the realities of the county level maps perhaps creating “leftist reservations” similar to Indian reservations is the right approach. The problem would be evicting the leftists from control over the rest of us. They like it, and they need us far more than we need them. I doubt they’d let go without a fight.

Look at that ‘impeach this’ map.

Soros has not penetrated there.

Dems are statists, which is why they have concentrated their efforts there. More effective.

They HATE the electoral college. We could call this the Electoral College Secession.

Yup. Sounds like a like from a WBYeats poem... the center cannot hold.

The Second Coming
BY WILLIAM BUTLER YEATS
Turning and turning in the widening gyre
The falcon cannot hear the falconer;
Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.

Surely some revelation is at hand;
Surely the Second Coming is at hand.
The Second Coming! Hardly are those words out
When a vast image out of Spiritus Mundi
Troubles my sight: somewhere in sands of the desert
A shape with lion body and the head of a man,
A gaze blank and pitiless as the sun,
Is moving its slow thighs, while all about it
Reel shadows of the indignant desert birds.
The darkness drops again; but now I know
That twenty centuries of stony sleep
Were vexed to nightmare by a rocking cradle,
And what rough beast, its hour come round at last,
Slouches towards Bethlehem to be born?
