The police interrogation of accused Oshawa torso killer Adam Strong teetered on the surreal.
At times during a videotaped police interview — played during his first-degree murder trial — it seemed that the movie set gofer was about to get up from the table and walk into the fresh winter air and make his way home.
Except that’s not what happened.
Strong was arrested in 2017 after “spilling the beans” to cops that the remains of pregnant teen Rori Hache were stashed in his apartment.
According to durhamregion.com, the accused killer told DRPS homicide detective Hermano Dorego: “It’s been a pleasant conversation between us. Thank you.”
Strong is charged with two counts of first-degree murder in the 2017 dismemberment slaying of Hache, 18, and the 2008 slaying of Kandi Firtzpatrick, 19, who vanished into thin air.
Wednesday was the third day of Strong’s murder trial in Oshawa.
Earlier in the day, the judge ruled that Strong’s ramblings to officers at the scene were admissible and that he had been properly cautioned. But it is in Strong’s nature to talk and when the jig was up, he kept prattling on to police.
Hache went missing in late August 2017 and her torso was found in the city’s harbour in mid-September. She was finally identified in November.
For Strong, the walls came crashing in on Dec. 29, 2017 when plumbers trying to fix clogged drains at his basement apartment in downtown Oshawa allegedly found what they believed were pounds of human flesh.
They called cops.
Strong spilled to officers that he had a body in the house, some of the remains stashed in a freezer in his bedroom.
Detectives later allegedly found DNA linked to Hache and Fitzpatrick in his apartment.
But when Strong arrived at the police station, he suddenly stonewalled them. A duty counsel lawyer told him to keep his mouth shut.
He told detectives: “I can honestly tell you right now: From when the police grabbed me, I had complete intentions of spilling my guts. (But) I was told to clam up. So I’m clamming up.”
Dorego encouraged Strong to come clean. The formerly effusive Strong offered only clipped answers about what happened to Rori Hache.
He did, however, happily prattle on when he discussed his love of scuba diving and food.
The trial continues Friday in Oshawa.

Guy needs to be put away for life....frankly he’s another reason to re-instate the death penalty ( without appeals).
