As I recall it took months for the Y2K’ers to admit that the lights never went out.

Sigh.... The lights never went out because a BUNCH of people like me spent the better part of a year identifying and FIXING computer related issues BEFORE They caused a problem.

I had a team of 6 people, working for a year, spending nearly $15M to make sure my chemical complex kept running. And still, I was as nervous as hell all day and night on Dec 31, 1999.

Amen ... I did the same ...

Several big banks had to be acquired by others because they weren't gonna make it in time. Notice the name changes about that time on the arena in Philly where the Flyers and Sixers play, for instance.
