My ancestors came as part of William Pitt’s fleet to what is now Pennsylvania in 1690. Most people with our surname no longer live there.
Both sides of my family came to the Richmond colony in the 1650s. They traveled up the Chesapeake and settled in World’s End, just outside Church Creek. Parks and Foxwells still live there today. All remain patriots. As Anne is fond of saying, we are settlers, not immigrants.
