For me, toilet paper is critical. I grew up using the old
Sears & Roebuck catalog pages in the great old outhouse my
dad constructed at home & the unbleached stuff on rolls they
had at school. - Now, I can have all the Charmin to use I
want and two or three indoor bathrooms to use it in.

Sheenan’s fifteen minutes of notoriety are up; but she seems
unaware they’re up.

My mother told me those stories.

By the time I came around the Wish Book had glossy pages and I can’t imagine it being useful for wiping.

I did use the outhouse a few times growing up but it had a toilet roll hanging on a wire by then.

Waiting for that plopping sound stays with you through the years.

That is one thing a person probably can still hear in many parts of Venezuela.

I don’t think it will be a big tourist draw.

“Come to Venezuela and relive the worst part of the 1930s” just doesn’t work for me.
