ime running short, Republicans and Democrats agreed Tuesday on a $1.1 trillion spending bill to avoid a government shutdown and delay a politically-charged struggle over President Barack Obama's new immigration policy until the new year.
The compromise will permit virtually the entire government to operate normally through the Sept. 30 end of the fiscal year, with the exception of the Department of Homeland Security.
Funds for that one agency will run out again in late winter. That will give Republicans an opportunity to try to use the expiration as leverage to force Obama to roll back a decision that will suspend the threat of deportation for an estimated 4 million immigrants living in the country illegally.

Elections have consequences. Unfortunately, not all of them good. Egad!

Honestly, took ‘em about .02 seconds to do this crap.
So sick of ALL of it.
Funding Obamacare was stupid, and worse. I’ll pray for the Supreme Court to follow the Constitution, but their reliability has been questionable under today’s thugocracy. I am nearing the end of my patience with FedGov - it’s time for them to be pruned back to their constitutional limits.

I told my congressman there is no excuse for passing a year-long budget and reelecting Boehner Speaker.
And I meant it: let the Dems and RINOs elect him.
I really believe that the voters are so angry ab out amnesty and obummercare that this congress will cxause the republican party to be a thing of the past.
If they do not do three things: Create more real jobs by putting the brakes on the EPA, the IRS and the Bureau of Land Management
Secure our borders and deport illegals
And destroy obummer care
A third party will rise from the ashes and get rid of the likes of Boner and weasel McConnel.
Three things or no more rinos.
Not one dime’s worth of difference.

GOP is a lost cause. Its base is like battered wives; always hoping for a change in behavior that never comes.
The depth of the fear the GOPe has for Obama and democrats is truly astonishing.
Boehner continues his policy of piling up debt. I’ll guess they’ll just go along to get along.
There was no "agreement". Democrats demanded and Republicans caved (again). Same ole, same ole.

They kicked the can down the road to when they have senate majority?
Well, well, well.
Our RINO FR posters should be very happy about this.
I’m not. But I am sure they are.
They claim to hate RATS, but it will be RATs that help pass this nonsense.
A sweeping republican victory during the mid terms over a month ago and NOTHING HAS CHANGED. Nada. Zip. Zilch. If these were private industry company CEOs hired specifically to turn the ship around, they would ALL be fired before the night was over for sheer incompetence and inability to follow the will of their investors (voters).
They took away the power of the incoming congress to set a budget when they get sworn in.
