The ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) is converting the secular constitutional Republic of Turkey founded in 1924 into a sharia law Islamist "republic."
It's already arrested and jailed military (active and retired), journalists, professors, and all who oppose the AKP.
The recent events in Egypt made the AKP very nervous.. especially since until recent changes in the Constitution the Army had the task to remove Islamists and hold new elections.
The last time the Army acted was 1998 I believe. Since then the constitution was changed preventing them from removing government threats against the secular Republic of Turkey IIRC.

Turkey is Muslim. She knew the rules and broke them. NO surprise that she was fired. I wonder if she will have to face more dire consequences. SUCH a STUPID thing for her to do. She is, no doubt, considered a prostitute for sale to the highest bidder. She KNEW that would be the outcome. She knew it and went ahead and did STUPID.
