The European Parliament is preparing to vote on a proposal to ban all forms of pornography.
A report detailing the ban was prepared by the Committee on Womens Rights and Gender Equality.
Embedded under Article 17 of the report is a clause that, if eventually made into law, would effectively ban pornography across all types of media, including the Internet, in Europe.
Freedom of speech campaigners have criticized the move, claiming that the clause has been quietly inserted into the legislation. They also described the inclusion of the article as an unacceptable political invasion of peoples bedrooms.

oooh, that will be interesting.
What is it with politicians and their desire to ban high capacity magazines?
Who says they masturbate in the bedroom?
I wonder how this will impact the perennial chorus of “Europe is SO much better than us!”
If not today, then in 38 years when the Muslims are the majority.
Okay, so let me get this straight. I could go to the Netherlands and hire a prostitute for the night, but I couldn’t bring up pornography on the internet? That makes sense...
Be prepared for an explosion in immigration out of the EU.
Imho this would be a very good thing.
If the EU banned porn — chances are the same thing would be banned in the USA in time as well.
This would be good. Of course that would just mean that the porn trade would migrate to other countries. But still.
Back to defining pornography. Good luck with that, EU!
Lol good luck Euroleftards. This will make America’s failed experiments with Probibition and the War on Drugs look like a picnic.
Will the EU ban topless beaches?
I remember back in the 1960s when Hollywood would make two versions of a movie.
One for US audiences in which you could drop the kids off to see and not be worried.
And a EUROPEAN version which would have been rater “R” if there had been a rating system at that time.
Esamples:
GUNN. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0061739/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1 (Peter Gunn investigates. Safe film for kids, but not the European version!)
HEAVEN WITH A GUN. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0064409/?ref_=sr_1 (I saw this in early 1969 at the theater marketed for kids, and it was NOT the adult version shown on ENCORE’S WESTERN CHANNEL not long ago and released in Europe! Same story, same actors. Glenn Ford starred in it.)
THE FEARLESS VAMPIRE KILLERS. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0061655/?ref_=sr_1 (The US version was so safe it was marketed to children, but not the European version!)
Playboy mag often had scenes from the European versions in their magazines.
There’s an idea that’s never been tried before: If you don’t like something, pass a law to ban it. Yeah...that’ll work!
