Because, what I see, is not Christ-like. I see hammers, sickles, knives, and saws. I don't see Christ, I see people who were like the pharisees, dragging that woman through town, full of self-righteousness, because they finally 'caught her in the very act.'

Yet GOD showed love and compassion. Christ probably wrote each pharisee's name, one by one, in the dirt...and next to it, a woman each was guilty of committing a sin with in their youth. And one by one, each pharisee shut up and walked away.

It was Christ who had the right, the moral absolute right, to condemn that woman. But He did not. He loved her, and talked to her, and forgave her. He won her over, I have no doubt, to eternal life through His showing love and act with love.

And yet, just a few months later, Christ/HolySpirit condemned Ananias & Saphira to death for lying to the Holy Spirit. There were no knives, hammers, nor sickles. The 2 people just keeled over right where they stood. Christ takes it seriously when people lie to the Church for nefarious gain. The same Christ Who sent the adulturous woman on her way.

What you “see” is people defending their faith. Your faith. They aren’t dragging anyone to the square, like the pharisees dragged that woman. The heretics are teaching openly in the square. The new testament shows Christ dealing harshly with such heresies.
