Except for his unfortunate go along to get along support of TARP, bailouts, stimulus spending and the increased credit limit, etc, Ryan is a pretty good choice. Probably the best choice of the RINOS that were on Romney's short list. I support Ryan for the vice presidency. Wish he were at the top of the ticket, though.
But I still cannot and will not support the grand father of ObamaCare. Romney still loves and brags about his bastard brainchild, RomneyCare, even today when he knows what an anti-liberty socialist POS it is.
And the fact that he advocated that abortion should be safe and legal in America for over three decades of his adult lifetime and even advocated that Roe v Wade should be supported and sustained as settled law precludes any consideration whatsoever by this pro-life Christian for Myth Romney for the presidency.
And the fact that he boasted that he would be better for "gay rights" than Ted Kennedy, and proved it just increases my resistance.
That, and his penchant for gun control, his continuing support for global warming, gays in the scouts, gays in the military, and his record of appointing liberal judges makes it all but impossible for me to support him.
Lastly, we're having a bit of changeover on our moderator staff. At least two moderators resigned this afternoon after I flatly refused to rein in a so-called anti-Mormon "bigot" on FR. Well, if being in opposition to false prophets and false prophecy makes a Christian believer a bigot, then I guess I'm a bigot. I've posted before that I flat do not believe that the Book of Mormon is the true word of God. Nor do I believe that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. The Christian bible warns us to be weary of false prophets and that I am. Romney being the presumptive Republican nominee does not change that fact.
“If you fear Obama, you’ll vote for Romney. If you fear God, you won’t.”
This is exactly what so many Freepers don’t seem to understand. It’s not about purity. No candidate is going to be perfect, but with Romney’s record many of us cannot vote for him, knowing we’ll have to stand before God. If this is what our country has come to, then it deserves either of the two candidates and the out pouring of God’s judgement. Frankly, I expect martial law and suspension of the election, so for me at this point, the arguments are moot. Besides, the votes are being counted in Spain by a Soros company. Crickets from the people and our representatives about that. The fix is in. I’ll still vote, but it won’t be for Romney and down ticket will be conservative. There might be some hope there.
As for Morons, my husband is ex-Mormon. His father got high up in the church, became total disgusted with the goings on and quit. I won’t elaborate here. For the people that don’t think Romney’s Mormonism will mean anything, I think you’re naive.
Oh my goodness when are they going to call Obama and his ilk radical homophiles? I mean the media is suppose to be unbiased and balanced isn’t it? (sarcasm)
LOL......ROFL
2 words katy of real-gone...

(i’d a stuck em together but i like to keep things down to 2 syllables so’s not to overheat your brain...bwhahaa)
no need to opus out, buddy.
there’s the neverMitt camp and there’s the clothespin nose voter camp.
and then there are the opusers. they are silly.
Although I sent you a private e-mail, I wanted everyone to know how I feel. I’ve never been so shocked and disappointed in a forum because I have sung the praises of FR for several years now. I truly regret my recent donation because I now feel it will only help the O’bama re-election campaign. Bye all! Apparently, it hasn’t been real.
“I was ready to stop posting against Romney on FR because I thought JR didnt approve.”
Seriously? Really? Come on, seriously?
Amen...Excellent post and I agree with every word, Ryan is young and has a future as a conservative. If Romney wins the presidency it'll not be because of my vote and it's for all the reasons you've made very clear.
I have little or no faith in Willard but Soetoro is 100% a baby killer and so is the Roberts Court. Tell me again who has the child like vision. Look in the mirror.
“The former freeper, Repogirl. “
The ONLY reason you are voting Romney is that he is a Republican. Party over country. Way to go dipshit.
Well, that’s a shame about the mods and I suspect it was difficult for you too.
I wouldn’t ask for a moderator job, but is there any chance that you could let me play with the Zot button for a few days... just a few days? Heck, maybe you could invite pissant back and I could Zot him myself. LOL
Things suck all the way around. I am not having fun anymore. Heck, I was supposed to get my boat back on the water this weekend, but my boat tech screwed it up, so here I sit in 87* weather. Grrr
I recently lost what I thought was a Freeper friend and I am not certain why. I think she could see that I was showing signs that I might be going to the dark side. Romney disgusts me for all the reasons you list and much more, but I hate Obama’s guts and while I thought I was hardline, I am no longer certain that I can keep from voting against Obama.... he is truly killing our country, maybe he already has.
I have been waiting, hoping and praying for a miracle, one that would put Palin and/or Gingrich in play, but I see nothing to suggest that is going to happen.
I can no longer see with any clarity what the correct choice is, but I know with every fiber of my being that it damn sure isn’t another 4 painful years of Obama and his treasonist pack of corrupt bastards.
I know that I am not going to be happy in November, regardless of who wins, but my God, I don’t think I could take another 4 years of Obama.
Jim, I think I know the Freeper you are talking about, if I am correct, I also called that person a zealot... and a bigot. I don’t want to get the Zot, I can just leave if you like.
If I leave or you vaporize me, please know that I will still respect you for your beliefs and for keeping this all together for so many years.
Well, like I said... things suck.
I wish you fair winds and following seas.”
Jim,
Good video indeed and it’s hard to argue against Romney’s past, however, I’m a believer in people’s salvation and that people can change.
Much of the angst against Mittens is due to his past. And it’s true he has changed positions significantly in the past.
I like Paul Ryan’s message immensely. And if one read the text of Romney’s speeches in recent years and was told that this was a speech Goldwater for example (e.g. the Romney Speech in Israel), one would believe those speeches were by Barry Goldwater. One will also notice that he’s swinging for the fences for PRO-BUSINESS, not socialism.
As a business owner, I understand how someone who understands business as our next president is of UTMOST importance at this juncture in American history because there will be no American economic engine left after 4 more years of the Bork Obunga Regime. Seriously!
As for the pathetic state of Calif, yes, I live here too and my vote is also useless against all the morons living here.
But you influence a lot of people who are in key battleground states because you are the original and only Jim Robinson.
I feel an extreme sense of disappointment that you prefer to encourage conservatives to be AWOL in this fight because you basically are saying you prefer Obama to Romney. There is no other way of looking at this.
Barack probably won’t go martial law to stop the vote. What he will do as lame duck is to pile up EOs to the point that even Democrats will start to talk impeachment, but too late to actually do anything.
I'm a little think-headed, so I appreciate you pointing out the sarcasm - I don't always recognize it. :)
i do hope a couple of the ABR FReepers on the thread will engage the question I posed. Romney was not my first choice (I voted for Santorum in the Ohio primary), but he's the only choice now, as I see it - I just can't see how helping Obama get reelected is going to put the conservative movement in a better position in 2016. Not that it would matter - Obama will pick two or three Supreme Court justices if reelected, and anything a conservative Congress and President would pass after a potential 2016 win will be struck down, anyway.
I remember reading a piece about Perot's impact on the 1992 election. The race in Ohio came down to a few votes per Congressional district, which meant that Clinton carried the state, and the White House, because Perot hated the Bush family. The Anyone But Bush voters won that year, and look what it gave us; I choose to not repeat the mistake this time around.
Thanks Jim
I’m voting to save our beloved country with you..
I hope you are right.
But aside from her, Ryan is the best one which came to mind.
And he's young (42). Good enough to take over the reins when Romney retires.
And -- though I despise Romney's liberal credentials, at least he gave a nod in the correct direction with this pic, rather than (say) Gov. Christie of NJ.
We must stop Obaama, or literally face destruction (300 nuclear warheads for the US is suicide, even if Obaama didn't go all Stalin on us).
Considering an extra donation to FR.
Cheers!
“Please pull my account.”
Pull it yourself. Log off and never come back. Wait, you think someone else should make decisions for you and protect you from yourself. What a liberal.
1. Not vote for Romney
2. Not support Obama
3. Cast a strategic vote against the Democratic Party
If you live in a solid blue state then you can and should vote for Jill Stein the Green Party Candidate. You should do so for these reasons:
1. You won't be voting for the RINO Romney
2. You won't be helping Obama to get re-elected
3. There is a chance that if enough people vote for the Green Party candidate then in future elections they will be allowed into debates and given more credence by the MSM. This may help to siphon the "true-believer" socialists and commies from the Democrat to the Green Party.
Go ahead and vote Republican down the rest of the ticket. Go ahead and hold your nose and vote Romney if your state is in play. But if you are like those of us in California where Romney has no chance at all, then a strategic vote for the Green Party could pose problems in the future for the Democrats.
Believe it or not there are plenty of Democrats who think Obama is too conservative and too beholden to corporate interests and should be replaced by someone more amenable to a national health service and punishing levels of taxation. Even if these crazies knew that conservatives were voting for the Green Party only for strategic reasons, if they thought the Green Party had a real chance to get to 5% they might even join us this election cycle.
