Except for his unfortunate go along to get along support of TARP, bailouts, stimulus spending and the increased credit limit, etc, Ryan is a pretty good choice. Probably the best choice of the RINOS that were on Romney's short list. I support Ryan for the vice presidency. Wish he were at the top of the ticket, though.
But I still cannot and will not support the grand father of ObamaCare. Romney still loves and brags about his bastard brainchild, RomneyCare, even today when he knows what an anti-liberty socialist POS it is.
And the fact that he advocated that abortion should be safe and legal in America for over three decades of his adult lifetime and even advocated that Roe v Wade should be supported and sustained as settled law precludes any consideration whatsoever by this pro-life Christian for Myth Romney for the presidency.
And the fact that he boasted that he would be better for "gay rights" than Ted Kennedy, and proved it just increases my resistance.
That, and his penchant for gun control, his continuing support for global warming, gays in the scouts, gays in the military, and his record of appointing liberal judges makes it all but impossible for me to support him.
Lastly, we're having a bit of changeover on our moderator staff. At least two moderators resigned this afternoon after I flatly refused to rein in a so-called anti-Mormon "bigot" on FR. Well, if being in opposition to false prophets and false prophecy makes a Christian believer a bigot, then I guess I'm a bigot. I've posted before that I flat do not believe that the Book of Mormon is the true word of God. Nor do I believe that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. The Christian bible warns us to be weary of false prophets and that I am. Romney being the presumptive Republican nominee does not change that fact.
Jim, we got half a loaf this time. We almost got none at all.
The Romney/Ryan ticket is getting my vote because I will not have any part in allowing the traitor Obama to stay in the White House.
And I have no problem justifying my vote to God. God makes leaders rise and He makes leaders fall; He can use any vessel He chooses to get rid of evil leaders.
All I know is, we have a stark choice staring us in the eyes.
Vote for good or vote for evil. Vote for a better future for your kids and grandchildren or vote for chains.
I won’t be sitting this one out on any principle. Obama has to go, and that is Job One.
The rest comes as it will, and we will work through that then.
We have 86 days to save America, and people need to quit kvetching and get on board.
Every Republican candidate was excoriated on this board for faults real and imagined over the past year. There was not one that could withstand the scrutiny of the Free Republic protologists’ exam. It was ridiculous.
We get where you personally stand. But where you stand is not where the battle is taking place. The battle is taking place across the land, and it involves choosing who gets to be in the White House come January 20, 2013.
I’ll choose the Mormon and the Roman Catholic, neither of which whose “religion” matches my own, because of the choice allowed me, they will have the best chance of upholding their oath of office, warts and all.
In 40 years of voting, I have always had to choose between flawed candidates. This is no different. On November 7th, win or lose, I would love to help start a party that will be a home for Conservatives, and make the GOP go the way of the Whigs.
But until Election Day on November 6th,the GOP is the only vehicle that allows the chance for Obama to be kicked out on his skinny little keister. So that is the vehicle I will use.
All it takes for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing. I refuse to do nothing.
Worse than Mitt’s and the GOP’s faults is Obama’s treason. That must be dealt with first. Otherwise you won’t have to worry about FreeRepublic any longer. It will cease to exist under the Kenyan’s regime.
The circular firing squad needs to stop. The enemy isn’t within our camp—he is outside. Now.
It’s time we take the batle to him.
Well said and I agree!
With all due respect, I’m not asking you to vote for Romney. You and many others have stated you will never vote for the man. Fine. Do I think you and others are foolish? Absolutely. We had a primary election. The grassroots conservatives you pray for were all too busy fighting each other about the other’s candidate not being conservative enough. Meanwhile, Romney wins the primary election. As a conservative, you well know that this election is between two candidates. Mitt Romney the republican and Barack Hussein Obama the democrat. Oh, the third party candidates will squawk and squeak and make a little bit of noise in some states, they will take some votes, but this election is between those two.
I’m asking you what people like me should do? Abandon FreeRepublic because we support the republican candidate for President?
I still remember posters here telling me that Rick Santorum had to be shunned for endorsing Specter. Remember that?
Sarah Palin has endorsed Mitt Romney. Is she going to eventually suffer the same fate?
I fully support Mitt Romney and I am as excited about Paul Ryan as the VP as I was about Sarah Palin.
Does your post exist only to bash me?...And then, if so, you think that bashing others about your perception of bashing a particular worldview is somehow in bounds -- all as you declare that to be "out of bounds?" (How is that logical?)
I critique a set of worldviews; legalism which masquerades as "Christianity"
In contrast, you engaged in a personal attack, impugning my motives as revenge or sour grapes. How is it that you can't recognize your own self-refutation -- where you seem to go against your own alleged personal standard of "bashing" religious expressions...
If you're against bashing religious expressions, then perhaps you should consider stopping bashing the motivations behind religious expressions coming from either ex-Mormons or family members of Lds (I am the latter...and no Mormon has treated me ill...relative or otherwise)
LOL oh great!
My whole reply was in response to that thypo.
Oh well dang!
...so will be the TAXED ENIUGH ALREADY supporters.
I'm afraid you are right, it seem the majority of them will vote for an unrepentant abortion supporting liberal.
Not this Tea Party taxed enough already supporter.
I got tricked into voting for McCain because of Sarah Palin and then watched Romney and McCain and their thugs do whatever the could to destroy her credibility.
Didn't work too well for them, she is not the most sought after political pundit by far on the scene at this time.
BTW I fully understand her motives in supporting the RR train wreck. (RR = RailRoad crossing)
Romney and the GOP-e have already marginalized Ryan by picking him, how soon do you think it will be that they start backstabbing him? I'm betting it has already started.
Same ol' same ol'
Everyone here IS anti-Obama. At least as near as I can tell. However, ABO appears to be the universally accepted label.
Virgil Goode is ‘anyone’, and so is Tom Hoefling. But when those inconvenient facts are brought up, people tend to get defensive.
So it appears “NBR” is perhaps more accurate. As in, Nobody But Romney.
There was a post earlier from a Christian who wrote: “EAT THIS MITBOT” then proceeded to quote a litany of scripture.
Why not just take the Bible and beat people to death who don’t agree with him?
Sounds almost Islamic.
(Uh... you get better results with LOTS of !!!!!!!!'s)
Most ridiculous, delusional post so far.
EXACTY!
Probably not.
But...
..if y'all get really insulting and obnoxious (like ME; some say) you will show up on the radar set: the MODERADAR 9000X model.
Slip over int o NAZI land and the ZOT will be fired up!
DANG!!
I shoulda read ahead!!!
Take it, BOSS; it's for you!
I didn’t accuse you of sour grapes or revenge.
I believe you are hate-filled and ignorant. I believe you use your “cross” to justify that hatred. I believe you know NOTHING about compassion, forgiveness or the true message of Christ.
Finally, I believe you are planted here to make good, Christian, conservatives look like idiots.
I believe it as surely as I believe I will take my next breath. And I just inhaled.
Well, I don’t see any reason to abandon FR. We will continue the fight for God and country regardless of who wins elections. Elections and politicians come and go. Securing our God given liberty is a never ending battle.
Eternal vigilance is the price of liberty
These are the same types of people who were scandalized when Jesus supped in the house of Nicodemus the Pharisee.
I get the sad feeling I am watching it die before my very eyes though.

Me too! I’m torn between posting and reading or just leaving and never looking back. I guess I’m too fascinated and want to see how my favorite freeper friends feel. Most of them feel the same way I do. Plus I love finding trolls and my God are there a lot of them here on this thread.
Well, let's say you choose Mitt the RINO...and somehow think that incongruent with staying on FR...
Let's say Mitt is elected...
Is "Gumby" Mitt going to suddenly stay the pitch he pitched in 2013 and beyond?
Is the man who said he was "pro-life" in late 2004,
said he would protect the Bay State's "status quo" on abortion in May 2005...
...passed permanent further taxpayer funded abortions in MA in 2006...
...ensured a Planned Parenthood rep remained permanently as part of the RomneyCare oversight board in 2006...
...and told Katie Couric in Dec 2007 that "parents" could "donate" their embryonic offspring to "research"...
...suddenly going to stay his swervy course...???
Or, come 2013, is he going to need a LOT of pro-life accountability?
The pro-life groups have already sold out their prophetic voice on this by endorsing Romney.
Who then would hold MR accountable on issues and victims like this -- if not FR?
