ATFs arrest of defendants in Project Coronado highlight the almost inseparable link between illegal trafficking of firearms and narcotics between the U.S. and Mexico, said ATF Acting Director Kenneth Melson. ATF ... focuses its investigative tools on criminal groups such as La Familia, ... It is alleged that La Familia used proceeds from the sale of drugs to purchase or obtain hundreds of firearms that were then moved illicitly to Mexico. Project Coronado through OCDETF., (Special Operations Division), DEA, FBI, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Internal Revenue Service, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, U.S. Marshals Service and ATF, as well as attorneys from the Criminal Divisions Narcotic and Dangerous Drug, 300+federal, state, local and foreign agencies. Project Coronado through OCDETF.

Gun-walker> OCDETF, just a few kids in the hood. Sure.

Why not give them the code-words as well? The cartels already know it’s coming now.
They still haven’t found Heisenberg yet.
No Big surprise there! Ricky and Racky are partners with the Sinola competition.
It used to be the Mexicans were satisfied with getting it across the border and then dumping it into domestic trafficking groups. Now the cartels do the interstate trafficking as well. Coke that hits the south border is being run all the way to Canada by Mexicans. They are also running meth and heroin. It used to be meth was at best a regionally produced drug. The government locked down the precursors in the U.S. and now the Mexicans have replaced those supply lines.
The drugs they had on hand were easily worth $200 Million and only $33 Million cash was found? They were probably selling that much every 1-2 months. 1186 people is like a good size corporation and I'm sure the DEA put great effort into tracking down the cash. Cash often occupies more space and is harder to hide than the drugs themselves. The DEA and USCBP use about as many cash dogs as drug dogs nowadays. This haul seems rather "light" for some reason...
You know they are paying off a lot of people in government.
Exactly
It is all about “reporting the numbers”. The ROE on the South Texas Border now (will not name sectors) is to concentrate on drugs. Pull back on the illegals (gonna catch and release anyway) and full focus on drugs from field to check points to field.
Get the numbers up the food chains so that they can be factored and so on and so on.
Thanks NAFTA CAFTA SHAFTA and our FERAL Government NON-immigration enforcement our southern borders are more than UNsecure. Mass ass confussion and BIG BIG money leading all the way to the the highest offices in our FERAL Government. Until our FERAL Government really starts fighting this WAR against drugs like WW1 and WW11, then it will be hopeless. Time for some dirt naps for these drug smugglers when caught.
This story is 3 years old and the drug dealers are still going strong.
“They still havent found Heisenberg yet.”
Oh the uncertainty of it all.
LOL. You talk like you think they actually have any intention at all of ever ending the "war on drugs". There is far too much money involved, both inside and outside of government for them to have any intentions of ending the "war", through victory or surrender. It has paid off handsomely in our bright, shiny and murderous new paramilitarized police forces. They've gone really well in the courts, by slowly building on precidents that stretch back to prohibition (you know, when the laws against alcohol actually had a constitutional basis). Funny, that once the constitution was amended, none of those precidents ever went away even though they were effectively based on nothing but air.
They've still got a lot of people support in this rediculous attack on "drugs', which strangely always really comes down to ultimately being an attack on our rights. Granted, there is less support these days that there used to be, except for those who benefit directly from the money and corruption it fosters, but the feral government understands one important point about their rule over us, and that is that they are ready, willing, and able to use all those guns the taxpayers have bought for them, while the rest of us are apparently not, even though we know, in our hearts, what you do to feral dogs.
“LOL. You talk like you think they actually have any intention at all of ever ending the “war on drugs””
OH, sorry I gave you that impression, you are gravely if you think I feel that way ol buddy. I am a realist and know our over paid masters have NO intentions of ending it only promoting it. The “Drug War” is their CASH COW. Simple as that.
I was only stating, IF they wanted to end it, they would be fighting it like WW1 and WW2, dirt naps for all smugglers. Let’s make some REAL examples of these scums, not just inflate the numbers and play these shell games. SMOKE ‘EM when you find ‘em.
I am going to have to go back and check my posts, but I do not believe I said one word about drug dealers.
Comparing a Cartel Smuggling/distribution center to a drug dealer is like comparing a volcano to a parlor fart.......
I stand by what I posted.
Go harrass someone else, I am busy.

Are you claiming that what I said doesn't apply to drug smugglers/distributors?
I stand by what I posted.
Go harrass someone else,
So refuting your posts is "harassment"? Have a hankie.
I am busy.
But not too busy to whine about being "harrassed".
Killing drug smugglers would have Unintended Consequences.
You don’t think they can’t find the homes and families of LEOs and elected officials for a little “payback?”
Not to mention that it's already the case that drug dealers face a very real risk of death - yet there's no shortage of them, and when one goes down another springs up to take his place. The money is just too good - thanks to the War On Drugs' hyperinflating drug profits and restricting them to criminal hands.
You do not have to kill a Cartel member before they seek out “payback”.
In Brooks County, they put a hit on the County Sheriff and County Investigator just for getting in their way. Yep, just slowing down the flow.
But what do you want to do Lil Ray, lay down, bend over or ignore it and hope it goes away. Sometimes, you just gotta take the good with the bad.
