ok, guess this is what is called a vanity. Not sure because this is my first post. So give me a break ok? WE are now down to 4 candidates. Here is how I see it. There will be no surprizes for anyone who has read my posts.
1. Ron Paul. A true fiscal conservative that I would vote for in a heart beat if he had a clue about our enemies and how much they hate us and want to destroy us and our way of life.
2. Mitt Romney. All he has to offer is that he really, really, really wants to be President. Well, good for him. The problem is when that is your sole motivatiion, you will do anything to win. It is sickening. I can not vote of this man.
3. Rick Santorum. A good family man, and an above average Senator for PA. A true second tier candidate any field (except the one we have.) He is a fair communicator and fair debator. I will vote for him, if he is the one. Can he win, I doubt it.
4. Newt Gingrinch. A flawed candidate with a lot of (known) bagage. I happen to believe they all have past sins, it is just his are really out there to say the least. Newt can articulate the conservative message better than anyone since Ronald Reagan. I hope he wins.
5. A brokered or contested convention. This will insure an establishment republican. I know many say Rick and Newt will put their delegates together. I will have to see that to believe it.
Yes, let us coddle them and click their blogs and make them feel they’re up to speed.
By all means let us.

Some independents will go for Rick no matter what. More of them will go for him if the economy tanks over the summer (think $5 gas and rolling blackouts as many coal-fired electric plants are shut down).

Why you think this I have no idea whatsoever. Newt is an old, angry white guy. His visuals are terrible, he has an ego the size of his paunch, his negatives are out of sight, and he has more skeletons in his closet than are interred at Arlington National Cemetery. And you think he’s going to pull more moderates than Santorum?!?
We’ll see what happens, because it sure looks like Rick Santorum is going to take the nomination.

This thread has nothing to do with blogs or blog pimps. It’s posted in Chat and is more interesting than a lot of the fluff posted in Chat. I like his style of comments, and he withstood the lumps and hazing better than many new members of potential quality could. Many would just leave and never get the chance become a donor to FR.
I appreciated Laz swearing off of “I’d hit it” when that got real old, and I wouldn’t mind if he decides to give new members who are decent, such as dt57, a break by not telling them to STFU.
I don’t think dt57 deserved the lumps that were given him for his political thoughts, considering there was a recent thread in Chat “14 Uses For Wax Paper”.

Yes, we don’t know who the new members are, but some of the comments here would drive away potentially good members. That is my opinion.
And by the way, I’ve read most of what was posted here for about 9 years, so I know what it’s like :)
