Some independents will go for Rick no matter what. More of them will go for him if the economy tanks over the summer (think $5 gas and rolling blackouts as many coal-fired electric plants are shut down).

Why you think this I have no idea whatsoever. Newt is an old, angry white guy. His visuals are terrible, he has an ego the size of his paunch, his negatives are out of sight, and he has more skeletons in his closet than are interred at Arlington National Cemetery. And you think he’s going to pull more moderates than Santorum?!?
We’ll see what happens, because it sure looks like Rick Santorum is going to take the nomination.
