>Does Bristol have ‘a right’ to pursue whatever opportunity she is presented with? Of course. Are her choices questionable? Yes. I don’t give a rat’s patoot what Bristol Palin does but as a supporter of Sarah Palin, I hate to see her headstrong daughter do things that I know the leftmedia will use to denigrate her mother. I half expect Bristol to start making noises about being a political liberal, any day now. However, that is every parents dilemma. You have to let ‘the kids’ grow up and be independent adults, even if they make poor decisions. This is such a case. <
Very well said. Anyone who would like to see Sarah Palin run for and win the presidency should realize that Bristol isn’t doing much to help her mother politically with these career moves. The opposition will use every possible means to destroy Sarah, including using the immature behavior of her adult daughter. And yes, I realize it’s Bristol’s “right” to make these decisions, but it’s my opinion that if she cared one bit about her mother, she’d do things differently.
Sometimes, acting in an adult manner means you don’t put money above your own family.
You just called Bristol a prostitute on a conservative web site, and you're pretending to have dignity?
Well she didn’t have to disgrace herself or dishonor her good name as a receptionist. That seems to be a plus in everyone’s book but yours.
This entire discussion revolves around whether she is behaving and has behaved as becomes a young lady. And all you offer in exchange is wealth, fame, and excitement - and a sneer at the honorable job of “receptionist”.
The media don’t have to invent rumors about Bristol Palin. They just have to pay her to be herself. That, unfortunately, reflects badly enough on her family.
But you’re all in favor of it. Interesting.
You could hit the abuse button on yout initial reply and ask the mods to remove it.
O.K., now you're getting ridiculous with this incessant and specious defense of Bristol Palin. To compare Ronald Reagan's TV career in the 1950's as an actor and host of a drama series to Bristol Palin being the focus of a 'reality' TV show that follows her life as she and her baby move in with two young men is absurd. Equally silly is a comparison of Sarah Palin's brief career (barely 2 years) as a TV sports reporter. Hardly comparable to being the 'star' of a 'reality' show about a single mother, her baby and two young men living in the same house.
How you keep getting Ron Reagan out of this is goofy to those of us that remember Reagan, and his children who all made careers from their fathers fame.
I was around for the Reagan presidency and well remember his children and their careers. Maureen had a few small movie parts in the early '60's but went on to be a political activist. She died of cancer in 2001. Michael Reagan was a noted powerboat racer in his youth and later became a radio talk show host on various stations and independent networks. Patti (Reagan) Davis was a minor TV actress and a liberal. During Ronald Reagan's presidency Patti publicly clashed with her father over politics and the leftmedia ate it up. Ron, like his sister, made an effort to separate himself from his famous father and I see Bristol Palin doing the same thing I attempted to explain to you that this is not unusual, but you ignored it.
The leftmedia loathes Sarah Palin, who is a Christian, although she doesn't go around waving a bible to prove it. The media are well aware of this. Bristol is putting herself in a situation where she will probably end up looking bad and by association, disappoint her parents and give the leftmedia more ammunition to assail Sarah Palin as a 'bad mother'. I feel that is a false charge because at 20, Bristol Palin is an adult, responsible for her actions - and their consequences. However, Sarah Palin, being a public figure hated by the left that control most of the media, will also suffer from her daughter's poor judgement in taking this TV reality show 'job'.
For reasons I can only guess at, you seem to be determined to argue about this ad infinitum. I am not. I've made my position on this minor issue crystal clear -twice. That's more than enough. Obviously, nothing anyone writes will change your opinion. Fine. You haven't changed mine, either. So what? I think we're done here.
Thought about it but then figured I would get even more abuse for doing that. its a no win situation.
No you are being specious. Rambling on about the Reagan’s Ron Reagan, and television, has nothing to do with Bristol Palin being anything like Ron Reagan.
The sweet, abstinence representative and spokesperson, 20 year old Bristol Palin has nothing in common with Ron Reagan.
Where is your evidence that Bristol engaged in prostitution? Were you just trying to paint Bristol as a prostitute for participating in a reality TV show?
You should not be abused. It was the winning post of the day.
Bristol was a gem on DWTS, and this new show that has her working at a charity and covers her moving from small town Alaska to the big city appears to be a good decent show from what we can learn, and considering that Sarah and Todd are close to the Massey family, it all sounds like a good career move for Bristol.
What is it that Bristol is doing wrong?
And now you’re a liar. The name “Bristol” isn’t in the post. You added it yourself, and then attributed it to me.
First it’s slander, then it’s lying to avoid having to apologize. What’s your deal?
Do you really think moving in with two guys is a good idea? Is that any kind of environment for her baby? Perhaps she’ll have the baby taken care of by someone else to free her up for her career.
Do you know something about the show?
If you weren't referring to Bristol, then who were you referring to? Were you just making an attempt to paint Bristol as a prostitute for participating in a reality TV show?
Neither one of you knows anything about the show, nor the relationship of Todd and Sarah to the two brothers and their family, and now the dignified man is off on a tangent about alternative families.
Doesn’t really matter though. Just as long as the money is good.
