IF the original document that provides the textual image had been done all at one time on a single machine by just one typist on a single sheet all of that might be true.

However, it is clear that this form was completed at different times on at least two different typewriters by maybe as many as 5 different typists of varying degrees of skill. Plus it was done on a multi-page form!

Which makes all of your suppositions less than probative.

This PDF Certificate of Live Birth released is not an image of the original. It may not even be a true copy, it was put together as an abstract from the original document.

Notice that at the bottom it says its a certified copy or an abstract. Mr. Obama is a theoretical American.

An OCR document presented with fancy Photoshop borders is already digitally altered. If you have already altered one thing, you can easily alter something else with the click of a mouse on Photoshop. A document with 1961 writing and a 21st Century safety paper background is obviously not the original.

To determine authenticity you need a real, actual document.

So did the president act stupidly by releasing a PDF abstract document? Maybe not.

If the State of Hawaii put an official seal on it then that ends the discussion of the authenticity as far as any court is concerned. Every state and court must give full faith and credit to the public acts, records and judicial proceedings of every State. And federal courts are also required to give full faith and credit to the public records of every state.

Hawaii says they have certified this copy. So legally, that ends the issue. It's entitled to full faith and credit.

At least maybe now the piss-stream media will stop insisting that the COLB is the birth certificate. And another distraction to keep from reporting on Obama's incompetence is also removed. /sarc

This is a graphic I did awhile back of the "original" phony COLB, where I changed it to a COLB for nancy pelosi, in an attempt to show how easily these things can be forged.

It's on the same type of safety paper, but before I put the name changes in, I went out to a blank spot on the form, copied the actual safety paper design, pasted it in place, aligned the pattern with the surrounding pattern, and then flattened the document; THEN, I matched the font as well as possible and typed in the info.

It's really easy stuff, but a real graphics expert could take it apart in 10 seconds...

Anyone thinking that the BC is fake because letters don’t align has never used an old, manual typewriter. They don’t know that capital letters are created by actually shift the entire typing plane UP. Depending on how fast you type, or how hard you press down on the shift, letters can easily become misaligned vertically. I have owned and used an old typewriter of this sort and can attest to this. So, your post just demonstrates that you don’t understand old typewriters, not that the birth certificate is fake.

Next, those that are attaching themselves to “layers” issue are also demonstrating ignorance... but on a different subject. It is clear to me at this point that the layers were simply created as part of the scanning process as part of a built-in OCR (optical character recognition) cycle. You can easily see that the layers have been created for all text that has been scanned as the same color (evidenced by the antialiasing and contrast). This is a completely reasonable explanation of why there are layers. It is not the result of manipulation, but simply the result of the scanning program doing it’s thing.

It’s time to drop this subject. You can reasonable attack Obama for acting like a jackass and whimsically withholding this document for so long, allowing the country to be needlessly torn apart on the issue. That’s fair. You can attack Obama for destroying this country in other ways. But at this point, you cannot win this argument. Most reasonable conservatives - like myself - have examined the issue thoroughly and are satisfied. Now you are just looking like a fringe kook.

The family of a Honolulu doctor whose signature appears on President Barack Obama’s birth certificate woke up to the news Wednesday that the late obstetrician had delivered Obama.

Relatives of Dr. David Sinclair told The Associated Press that they were “blown away” and “honored.”

I think I figured it out.

If you watch the “layer” videos, you’ll find that one layer only contains signatures. And that is what they needed for this thing. A doctor’s signature. bingo.

I don’t know where obama was born, but it wasn’t this hospital. And it certainly wasn’t by Dr. David Sinclair.

Solution:
Since Obama has released it, have a trusted person (is there such a thing anymore?) or persons go and look at the original in the book in Hawaii. Take a high resolution picture of it and post the jpeg directly to the internet.
I’m sure there is some statute that they will pull out and say “We would really love to allow this, but the laws prohibit us from doing such a thing” or some other reason we can’t do this.
Besides, the transparency and openness of this administration should be enough for any reasonable person to believe anything they tell us, right? Only a racist would expect any questions about Obama to be cleared up. s/

I’m looking at 2 birth certificates, one from the 1950’s and one from the 1960’s; both are certified copies with the hospital seal. The whole tab theory falls apart when I look at the one from the 1960’s. There are no less than 6 places where if tab stops were used, words would line up, but they don’t.

Interesting. True, a typewriter would return to the left margin and you'd just start typing.

Above, you can see that the typing in blocks 1, 2, 6a, 6c, 7a, 7d, 8, 10, 13, & 15 all align at the left margin. Blocks 6b, 9, 12b & 14 are aligned at a tab.

Strangely, 11 & 16 and 12a& 17a are not aligned.
