A South Florida band teacher is in trouble with the law after he allegedly sent a 14-year-old student suggestive text messages and pictures of his "instrument."
Dennis A. Mulder, teacher at Allapattah Flats K-8 school in Port St. Lucie, was arrested Wednesday on two felony counts of transmission of material harmful to minor by electronic equipment, according to tcpalm.com.

Stories like this hurt male teachers by fueling suspicion that they might be predators. Women are predators too, but as other posters have pointed out, attractive women get a pass.

How could he possible think a young teenage girl would be interested in looking at pictures of his “shortcomings.”
Apparently he’s not man enough to satisfy a grown woman, so he preys on young girls who aren’t old enough to know better.
When I was young(ancient times)this would have been handled by the neighborhood beat cop, the teacher and the girl’s father and uncles.
The cop was there to keep witnesses away.
Who provides her with a computer? her parents? or maybe the government?
Back in our times they called the 14 year old girls jail bait for a good reason.
And the music teacher must not be very smart in things other than his music. been there and ran from that.

When picking victims, they don’t usually pick the smartest and most well adjusted. They prey upon the the unsure, the kid who chews their fingers or hair, more likely to be fatherless, etc. The kid who most needs a friend - and they become that “friend”.
It is difficult having enough patience to wait for the Good Lord to fulfill His promise regarding these sub-human scum.
The ‘grooming’ progresses from acting concerned, acting trustworthy, acting as if he is beginning to develop a romantic attachment, to acting as if he is in love etc. all the while his objective is sex with a minor. At 14 year old, the brains of children are not able to anticipate that progression. Only after he has convinced her he is in love with her does he send her the photos and, likely, she thinks he’s the only one who really does love her. Oh but if you prefer to think of children as sluts then you probably already skipped to the rest of the comments further down the page...
And since i was a 14 year boy once i know that sex is all half of us had on our minds, and from what i have heard from women they were much the same way as 14 year old girls.
Why do you suppose people used to get married at a younger age?.
Could it be that people used to know that nature would be calling at that age.
And it is true , the teacher did a stupid thing and should not be allowed to teach minors.

They know exactly what they do, and they enjoy doing it, and for the vast majority of them there rehabilitation isn't an effective option. So, I'll vote for permanently removing them from free society for the rest of their lives and hopefully they'll repent while incarcerated.

She is only a child with plenty of parental support, this is someone that preyed on her that has been around her for a couple years, gained trust. This child is very smart and talented, no bimbo. As for him he was rearrested again on the 13th of april with additional charges. He was grooming her as they all do and because of parental invovlement this was brought to attention

Thank You for the update, this kind of sickness needs to be out there for everyone to know and for everyone to talk to their children and be that nosey parent, if this parent had not been that parent how far would this have gone? Again thank you!
