A South Florida band teacher is in trouble with the law after he allegedly sent a 14-year-old student suggestive text messages and pictures of his "instrument."
Dennis A. Mulder, teacher at Allapattah Flats K-8 school in Port St. Lucie, was arrested Wednesday on two felony counts of transmission of material harmful to minor by electronic equipment, according to tcpalm.com.

Since he is other than a hot chick, I predict jail time and an ankle bracelet.

When I was young(ancient times)this would have been handled by the neighborhood beat cop, the teacher and the girl’s father and uncles.
The cop was there to keep witnesses away.
She’s a child, not a bimbo. A 14 year old child who was most likely ‘selected’ by the perv as one vulnerable and in need of parental support or presence and not getting it. So he starts the ‘grooming’ process by pretending to listen and care when she talks about what’s going on at home etc.
Sure, but when he started texting pics of his package, it should’ve crossed her mind that his interests went far beyond “understanding” her.
Yeah, there’s no doubt he detected her vulnerability pretty quickly.
Apparently, his instrument fell short of his dreams.
For those who are curious.
Breaking News Alert! ! !
The union will not defend this ‘teacher’ because he is not certified to teach “Skin Flute” courses.
The ‘grooming’ progresses from acting concerned, acting trustworthy, acting as if he is beginning to develop a romantic attachment, to acting as if he is in love etc. all the while his objective is sex with a minor. At 14 year old, the brains of children are not able to anticipate that progression. Only after he has convinced her he is in love with her does he send her the photos and, likely, she thinks he’s the only one who really does love her. Oh but if you prefer to think of children as sluts then you probably already skipped to the rest of the comments further down the page...
Oh I’ve responded to you alright. You falsely claimed I said (or implied) something, and I called you out on it. Don’t like it? Then refrain from doing it.
Oh see, now you aren’t using vulgar language. I read your ‘bimbo’ post - you don’t like my reply - you call me names. I see your towering intellect now...
GUILTY
Again, you put words in my mouth, claiming I called her a slut. No one likes to be misquoted.
No, I am not putting words in your mouth.
I wonder to what extent regional or social context fuels our disagreement. I am not young and have traditionally heard ‘bimbo’ used to imply ‘stupid woman who trades on her looks/sexuality to get what she wants’. Having watched young people struggle with the kind of situation that this young girl is in, and actually encountered a fair number of adults still struggling with long past episodes of molest in their childhood, I know that the only way they let go of the damage is to give the blame to the perp and not to their prey. Even in those instances where a History teacher with a porn addiction is going through a terrible divorce and is repeatedly propositioned by a child - he is still responsible for his actions and a child is not responsible for his action. To hear kids blamed (’should have known’) in TV, print, conversation etc. is to wonder if there are others present with wounds that fester and are made worse by hearing a child receive condemning comments for that situation. The girl, like many others I’ve spoken with, is not stupid, but is sadly without protection from parents or society and probably was selected for these traits.

That's speculation on your part. Her mom was obviously involved enough to check her daughter's cell phone. Then she wisely contacted the police.
he is still responsible for his actions and a child is not responsible for his action.
You're stating the blatantly obvious. I didn't either say or imply that she was responsible in any way for what happened. I merely noted her immense naivete, indicated by this (from the article).....
The girl later told police she and Mulder were "just good friends," and that he was the one person that understood and could relate to her."
Not pure speculation. The 14 year old was unsupervised enough to spend time alone with a male teacher to have a relationship with him. When I was that age - I would not have been permitted that kind of time with male teachers, coaches etc. The kid doesn’t appear to have the boundaries a protected kid would have otherwise she would have been telling her little friends that ‘lately Mr. Teacher is giving me the creeps.’ She seems to have been emotionally vulnerable and that usually is another indicator that some emotional protection was lacking. IMHO, when referring to 14 year olds, ‘Naive’ means ‘innocent and unprepared’ rather than ‘airhead’ or stupid.
I believe the proper answer is rope, a millstone, and the depths of the sea.
Get all New Testament on adult sex offenders who target children.
Maybe we should replace all public Teachers with some sort of Asexual Teaching Android?
At least they won't strike or rebel!
OMG What have we done!!!!
