Ann Coulter calls the results of the RNC Chairman election a ‘big mistake’
DailyCaller ^ | 01/14/2011 | Steve Nelson

Posted on 01/14/2011 5:45:28 PM PST by BuckeyeTexan

Ann Coulter has something to say about Friday’s Republican National Committee Chairman election, and it isn’t favorable about the results.

“Big mistake not to re-elect Michael Steele” Coulter wrote via Twitter, “If he weren’t good, the left wouldn’t hysterically attack him.”

Steele lost the Chairman election to Wisconsin Republican Chair Reince Priebus. Steele came in second place in the first round of balloting, with 44 votes to Priebus’ 45 votes, but lost ground in further rounds of voting.

Err..... I don’t know if I agree with the single ladies wanting to marry the government... women who remain single usually do so for a reason, even if incomprehensible to most of the rest of us. I actually don’t recall ever meeting a true spinster, or one looking for a government handout.... be that as it may, I am sure its happened in the past, but I don’t think its the norm.

Saying Sarah shouldn’t run for POTUS is not exactly a ringing endorsement.

I see your point however. Ann has indeed toed the line when it comes to the “conservatives do not attack conservatives” rule.

That being said, Ann has been clear that she believes Sarah should continue to do what she is doing with out running for another office. I disagree with that point of view, and I do not think Ann has made a good choice in this. Instead of trying to minimize a potential future candacy, Ann should be helping to guide Sarah in the directions she would need to go in in order to secure that nomination successfuly and get elected.

This is why I believe that Ann does not like Sarah.

How so? I thought the two were pretty darned close to one another in terms of conservativism.

I am going to try and give you the benefit of the doubt... But that was STILL one of the most misogynistic statements I have seen on FR in some time.

Women are the caretakers in our society. It is THAT tendency the DNC targets you simpleton. Not some carte blanch desire for a handout. Certainly two diminutional attitudes like yours do not in any way further the attempts of conservatives to reach out to this subsection of society in an effective way. Thanks for making the problem worse with your woeful and poorly reasoned knee jerk comeback. Cheers, well done... /rolls eyes

http://governor.ontheissues.org/2008/Sarah_Palin_Immigration.htm

I respect you Pissant, but you are not correct in your statements with regard to Palin on Immigration. Her approach is nothing if not common sense. Close the border, and get Illegals a path to citizenship. It is the only way to humanely deal with over 12 million people, unless of course you have some other stratgic solution to forcably moving 12 Million people all at once....

Sarah Palin on Immigration

Republican Governor (AK); ; nominee for Vice President

Supports a path to citizenship, but no amnesty for illegals

Q: Should undocumented immigrants all should be deported?

A: There is no way that in the US we would roundup every illegal immigrant--there are about 12 million of the illegal immigrants--not only economically is that just an impossibility but that's not a humane way anyway to deal with the issue.

Q: Do you then favor an amnesty for the 12 million undocumented immigrants?

A: No, I do not. Not total amnesty. You know, people have got to follow the rules. We have got to make sure that there is equal opportunity and those who are here legally should be first in line for services being provided and those opportunities that this great country provides.

Q: So you support a path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants?

A: I do because I understand why people would want to be in America. To seek the safety and prosperity, the opportunities, the health that is here. It is so important that yes, people follow the rules so that people can be treated equally and fairly in this country.

Never supported Pat Buchanan for president

Q: Did you support Pat Buchanan for president? You did have a button on.

A: I did wear a button at his book signing, or one of the events. Because see here, a presidential candidate coming to little ol’ Wasilla, one year. And we all showed up. It was an honor to see anyone of that stature come to our city.

Has not often expressed views on illegal immigration

Immigration: Being that her state only borders Canada and is thousands of miles from the Mexican border, Palin has not often expressed her views publicly on illegal immigration.

OpEd: Palin is sick to death of this immigration nonsense

We definitely want a governor [as McCain’s vice-presidential nominee], but slim pickings, though, in the governors. And I’m telling you, the Alaskan governor, Palin. I sat next to her at dinner--this was in July--I spoke at an event. KBYR, our great affiliate, was there. And just a great, great time. And she was delightful , and smart.

So, back to the Veepstakes. Sarah Palin: I like her. She’s a beautiful woman, but she’s also a conservative. Her husband, he’s a fisherman. I’m not kidding you, and they go out and fish on the weekends. He’s a commercial fisherman. I’m telling you, I think that sells. That sells a lot more than “my friends” and comprehensive immigration reform. And she’s not for comprehensive reform, I can tell you that right now. She’s sick to death of this immigration nonsense in the United States.“

Address jointly with Canada the border security challenges

Alaska Governor Sarah Palin will welcome more than 30 Canadian officials to Juneau and Anchorage for meetings January 18-19, 2007. “Alaska’s new administration needs to start early and energetically with expanding our strong, cooperative relationship wit Canada,” said Governor Palin. “We have many common issues. Our meetings this week will promote continued trade. We’ll also have the opportunity to address jointly the border security challenges placed on us by the U.S. and Canadian national governments.”

Alaska’s exports to Canada are headed for record highs, based on the federal export numbers for the partial year January through November 2006. Alaska’s exports to Canada for that period more than doubled to $441 million compared to the same period in 2005, spurred by $320 million in lead and zinc ore exports.

Immigrants want more vocational training & senior assistance

Q: The state has seen big growth of minority and immigrant populations, specifically Latinos & Southeast Asians. What sort of outreach has your campaign done?

A: I have reached out to all these communities and asked them to identify their needs. Their response has been for more vocational training, senior assistance, ending gang violence, and more state outreach and communication with their communities. One of the key components of my internal campaign is a diversity task force. I turn to them often.

Took no action on Alaska’s “sanctuary cities”

Lou Dobbs notes that at least two of Alaska’s cities have been officially designated as sanctuary cities: “An August 14, 2006 report produced by the Congressional Research Service listed 31 cities and counties that have ‘don’t ask, don’t tell’ sanctuary policies in place. They [include] Anchorage, Alaska [and] Fairbanks, Alaska. Alaska and Oregon both have state-wide policies that forbid state agencies from using resources to enforce federal immigration law.”

Apparently, this is by design from the highest levels. In fact, a resolution to that effect was passed in the Alaska state legislature in 2003 (before Palin’s election): “[Alaska] House Joint Resolution 22--May 2003: Establishes that state agencies and instrumentalities may not use state resources or institutions for the enforcement of federal immigration laws, which are the responsibility of the federal government.”

It’s not clear whether Gov. Palin has ever weighed in, pro or con, on Alaska’s sanctuary policies.

Tightened restrictions on illegal alien’s drivers licenses

There has been an ongoing fight in Alaska over drivers’ licenses for illegals. A bill banning drivers’ licenses for illegals passed the Alaska state senate in 2003 [before Palin was elected governor]: “JUNEAU (AP)--The state Senate approved a bill that tightens the standards for getting a driver’s license by requiring applicants prove they are in the country legally and by placing time limits on licenses for legal aliens.”

The measure did not pass into law. In any event, Palin’s DMV subsequently tightened the administrative regulations on drivers’ licenses, thereby giving rise to a lawsuit by some folks who found the new restrictions inconvenient.

The new restrictions were not, however, enough for at least some members of the legislature, who tried again recently to enact a ban into the statutory law: “Despite two unsuccessful pushes, [a new bill] addresses the rights of illegal immigrants in Alaska: to require applicants to show proof of residency before they can get a driver’s license.”

Nothing simplistic about it. My sister (a conservative Christian) and her daughter voted for Obama in 2008...because he’ll provide health care. Gag. And single women vote strongly Democrat - again, they want the handouts. They want someone to take care of their needs, but who will never leave the toilet seat up.

I met another woman who had conservative political beliefs, but voted for Bill Clinton because “Bob Dole has mean eyebrows!”

Yeah, women are the care takers - they want to be taken care of, and to know they’ll be provided for by someone...Daddy Government.

MARRIED women tend to vote Republican, although some holdouts like my sister never wean themselves from the government tit.

“The “marriage gap” — the difference in the vote between married and unmarried women — is an astonishing 38 percentage points, according to aggregated USA TODAY/CNN/Gallup Polls. In contrast, the famous “gender gap,” the difference in the vote between men and women, is just 11 points.”

http://www.usatoday.com/news/politicselections/nation/polls/2004-08-25-female-vote_x.htm

“The good news is that they overwhelmingly vote Democrat. In fact, when viewed strictly in terms of percentage points, Bush led by one point among married women in 2000, while unmarried women preferred Al Gore by 31 points.”

http://www.alternet.org/story/17289

“It’s interesting theory here that basically women are the nurturers, and they have to have insurance against deadbeat husbands who are going to leave ‘em at some point, or for women who look down the road and don’t see a prince charming for a while. So the point is when women got the right to vote, the growth of government, whether it’s by accident or by design, started at the same time. Because women need a fall-back position more than men. Now, if there’s any truth to that... Ann Coulter jokes about this all the time. Ann Coulter says, “You want to reduce the size of government? Take away the right to vote from women.” She says this on college campi just to irritate. She knows it’s never going to happen, don’t misunderstand. She says it to make point that women, some women, as this story points out, end up becoming dependent; and with nobody else than government to depend on, well, then you’ll depend on it.”

Sorry Rog old boy, but examples of your family members, as well as unscientific commentary are not making your case.

Rog old boy, I am not buying into your carpet bomb of blame. Nor do I accept your assertion that single women vote Democrat because they want a hand out. It is your 2 dimentional attitudes along with those who share them that quite literally PREVENT effective outreach to this community. Want an example, ask yourself why your identification of single women looking for a hand out has not succeeded in getting this sub group to listen to reason with regard to the right.

Test a theory to see if its correct, if you are, then the number of single women voting democrat would have DROPPED with the realization and by making use of the information. It has NOT dropped, therefor your theory fails.

I will put THAT up to Rush Limbaugh (who though I respect him, I do not listen to) or anyone else for that matter. I don’t and never did want a hand out.

You see, I AM one of those single women who was a democrat in Highschool, because I was UNINFORMED with regard to what the parties REALLY stood for. Frankly, MOST Americans are not as politically involved as I am, nor do most people put the time thought and energy into their political philosophy as I have.

I became a conservative officially when I realized the difference between leftism and conservativism. My views previous to that had NOTHING to do with wanting a hand out or ANYONE to take care of me. I was perfectly capable of doing that for myself. I didn’t get married until I was 29, my first child was born at 31. I identified myself as a conservative at the age of 22 or so. Why? Because my readings of Ayn Rand (Which I read at the age of 13) took on real world meaning, and I woke up in truth.

I am NOT that unusual in the world. Single women need EDUCATION with regard to the political philosophy of the left and the right. PANDERING to this subgroup has been successful for the left. But we do NOT need to emulate that brainwashing idiocy. Not at all.

We need to let them know what we stand for and why, in unequovical terms that says what WE believe.

Ponying up to the dinosaur belief that single women just vote for handouts is no different or correct that my saying “the poster Mr. Rogers is a murderer,” because you support a closed southern border. I do not care what anyone says, BOTH attitudes and statements are WRONG.

Fine. YOU explain the 30-40 percentage point gap in how single vs married women vote...

“Test a theory to see if its correct, if you are, then the number of single women voting democrat would have DROPPED with the realization and by making use of the information. It has NOT dropped, therefor your theory fails.”

Yeah, and blacks haven’t stopped voting 90+% for democrats, so it means conservative ideas don’t work in the black community.

Single women vote overwhelmingly for democrats. Why? Abortion? Or handouts? Or both...

Well, that was an overly emotional response...

Wow, I mean WOW, dude, you need to get off this site. If you think that single women are voting for democrats because of Abortion and handouts, then you are completely utterly HOPELESS.

I told you why. Its the SAME reason I was a democrat in High School. I DIDN’T KNOW ANY BETTER. What differentiates me at 22 from them at 22, is that I started THINKING about it and asking questions when the cardboard cut-out-slogans didn’t jive with reality. I am a bit unusual in that, just ask anyone who knew me in high school and college. I wasn’t CONCERNED with politics, I had a lot of other things on my mind which generally were self centered teenager run of the mill crappola all hormonal teenagers experience. Politics didn’t matter to me much then, so I just followed my teachers advise: If I wasn’t sure, then just register democrat and you can change it later. Yea, no joke, thats what my class was told. That was 1987. I was 17 and could not register to vote, but when I could, I just followed the advise I was given like a LOT of young people tend to do.

Now, Roger, take your short sided tunnel vision views of women somewhere else. WE DO NOT NEED YOU or those like you. You are part of the problem, not the solution. Mostly because you can’t even identify the problem.

Yep, handouts. A security net. I’ve backed my statement up with personal examples and polling data.

You’ve offered emotion and insults. Yep, you’re a woman...

Of course, if you find that insulting, you are free to back up your claims with facts, or an explanation WHY the gap is 30-40 points.

“I told you why. Its the SAME reason I was a democrat in High School. I DIDN’T KNOW ANY BETTER. “

Ahh...so a 17-18 year old MALE knows better, while a FEMALE just does what she is told...and you claim I’ve got a problem with women?

LOL

Roger, don’t even stop and wonder why I think you are a bigot. Your posts prove it. If this were 1485 you would have steadfastly believed that the world was flat and call out ANYONE who proposed a different reality. Sort of like the Roman Catholic Church and the Spanish Inquisition.

You don’t know crap about being a 20 something single woman. Don’t even try to pretend you do.

Oh, and I didn’t kick you off FR, I strongly suggest you do NOT BELONG HERE because this is no place for bigots. Particularly misogynistic bigots. As far as I am concerned, you could have helped Jim Rob to set up the first server and it would NOT change my opinion of you.

You sir are part of the problem which KEEPS allowing single women to vote Democrat. You just want to be right. Well you aren’t. At least if your goal is to educate young people with regard to what conservative IS rather than what they have been told for the last 13 + years of their school lives.

So you go off and comfort yourself with your “superior” and yet still so utterly uninformed opinions. Your belief in the incorrect causes is part of the problem, but you aren’t capable of recognizing that let alone changing it. I know what you are. So does everyone else who reads these posts.

If you want to keep a group of people pigeon holed, then by all means you just keep doing and believing the things which pigeon holed them to begin with.

You might want to check your lance again before tilting at windmills. That is the last I have to say to you Rogers. You seriously do not belong here. FR is NOT for Bigots.
