We should have told them all to “shove it” and fought a guerilla war until they were choking on their own blood!

Unless you are REALLY old, there's no we about it. You weren't there.

And thankfully General Lee and General Johnston had the CLASS and DIGNITY to realize that the end was at hand and ended the war. Only those two individuals had the CLASS to end the war before the south was completely eradicated.

“WE” refers to my ancestors, and.... General Robert Edward Lee was very upset about the way the North had vilified the South after the war. In 1870, just before his death, Lee told Governor Fletcher Stockdale of Texas,

“Governor, if I had foreseen the use those people designed to make of their victory, there would have been no surrender at Appomattox Courthouse; no sir, not by me. Had I foreseen these results of subjugation I would have preferred to die at Appomattox with my brave men, my sword in my right hand.”

So don’t bring him into it.....
