“Truth crushed to earth is truth still.......”
A quote from the “Great Emancipator” himself:
Abraham Lincoln Quote
“I will say then that I am not, nor ever have been in favor of bringing about in anyway the social and political equality of the white and black races - that I am not nor ever have been in favor of making voters or jurors of negroes, nor of qualifying them to hold office, nor to intermarry with white people; and I will say in addition to this that there is a physical difference between the white and black races which I believe will forever forbid the two races living together on terms of social and political equality. And inasmuch as they cannot so live, while they do remain together there must be the position of superior and inferior, and I as much as any other man am in favor of having the superior position assigned to the white race. I say upon this occasion I do not perceive that because the white man is to have the superior position the negro should be denied everything.”
I’ve got ONE word for ya:
Its called ‘TREASON’.
Seems Maj. Randolph’s beautiful song received rave reviews. It was published in the US and Europe at the turn of the 20th century. I haven’t read about anyone then calling him treasonous; no, that fools errand seems to be in the purview of the pathetic little revisionist neo Yankee boot licks of Free Republic’s resident Lincoln Coven.
Proving a bruised Yankee ego is a bloody and dangerous thing, indeed.
Wow, I appreciate the candor. IYO, Freedom of association and self governance is a lie, just wow.
Pretzel (ill)logic, as provided by the delusional or deceitful.
“We have always been at war with Eastasia”
If you declare war on the United States, you can expect to be defeated unconditionally.
Who ever told you different?
Madison's words on this are quite clear: conditional approval of the Constitution was not approval, the Constitution must be adopted in toto and forever.
And disolving the Constitution had to be by mutual consent, or by "usurpations" or "abuses" having that same effect.
But in 1860, none of those conditions existed.
So your argument above is a total lie, pal.
Nothing like that happened.
In 1860, there was no "oppression" by the Federal Government -- only oppression of slaves.
There was no "despot" in Washington -- only despotism of slave owners.
There were no "chains of tyranny" from Washington -- only Southern chains on their slaves.
So it's all a lie, pal -- what you were told as a child is completely untrue.
In 1860, Washington did nothing to deserve the Southern War of Aggression against the Union.
But the Deep South seceded anyway, and declared war on the United States -- not because of what Washington had done, but rather because of what the South was afraid it might do, to prevent the expansion of slavery.
Nonsense.
But I appreciate that you seem hard-wired against seeing the truth of the matter.
Sure, Virginia, North Carolina, Tennessee and Arkansas, did not join the Deep South's Confederacy until after Davis ordered the firing on and taking of Fort Sumter, which Lincoln declared a "rebellion", giving Virginia the excuse it thought it needed to secede.
Those are facts not in dispute.
But the Deep South's original secession was done, in Madison's words: "at pleasure" -- for no legitimate reason such as "mutual consent," or Federal "abuses" and "usurpations."
The South compounded its illegitimate secession with unlawful seizures of dozens of Federal forts, ships, armories, etc., and illegal firing on Federal forces.
And even before Virginia, North Carolina, Tennessee and Arkansas formally joined it, the Confederacy had already declared war on the United States!
So your state, pal, knew that it was going to war before it seceded.
Virginia had to want war to join the Confederacy!
So Virginia wanted war, and they got war.
What possible grounds for complaint are there?
;-)
Why don't we talk 'bout something truly serious - worthy of secession - that being the kangaroo court of the Lincoln conspirators? Quite frankly, we don't need to get into it: the atage was set by Chief Justice Marshal (SCOTUS).
AFAIC: the Rebels f'd up. They should've petititioned for seccession, and then assasinated Lincon. Then, and only then - given subsequent kangaroo court - could the the Southern States lay claim to an emotional charge of tyranny.
It would seem that I have to spell it out for the lesser witted citizens of this still last-greatest country in the world & history.
Congress passed a rule that utterly abandonded the righteousness of alcohol. It could be argued that such was via fiat, altbeit the issue of the Constitutional requirements for such would be at issue.
So. Where do we as a people of the emerging 21st century return to?
All those students turning out to protest in your favor? First time they are met with a hail of gunfire, specifically targeted at heads, would be the last time they turned out.
The left only THINKS they want a revolution. They dont have the b*lls to finish one. You got balls? Where where they when they counted?
First targets on my list? 6 to 14 yr old leftist girls. Why? Remove the breeders, you wipe out two generations. Them & their offspring. Sorry. Revolution is for all the marble & its for keeps.
Dont start it if you dont plan on finishing it.

Its called treason for a reason.
I guess you don't understand secession. What you wrote in your silly post could have been written by King George III. You probably don't even know who that is, so do your own research.
When the citizens of a state(s) VOTE TO SECEDE, what they are doing IS THE OPPOSITE of revolution. They are not overthrowing anything, just separating from the old FedGov, and creating a new one. The old FedGov is still there, just with a smaller jurisdiction. In the last secession, the blood thirsty Illinois Butcher was responsible for 600,000 dead, as the South would have negotiated a unconditional peace AT ANYTIME.
Just to prove a point, the states are independent sovereigns, perfectly capable of running their own affairs, did it every occur to you during the last unpleasantness that seceding states formed their own National Government in Richmond and an Army capable of defending huge nation in about 2 months. So much for the myth of the Federal domination. We don't really need a federal government at all, it is only a convenience at best.
Secession belongs to a different class of remedies. It is to be justified upon the basis that the states are sovereign. There was a time when none denied it. I hope the time may come again, when a better comprehension of the theory of our government, and the inalienable rights of the people of the States, will prevent any one from denying that each state is a sovereign, and thus may reclaim the grants which it has made to any agent whomsoever.
-- Jefferson David Pres. CSA
Any mindset that believes it can justify inflicting misery on others for the GREATER GOOD will always be more prone to violence than those who cherish individual responsibility and limited government.
