FRESNO (AP) — The trial has been pushed back for a Central California high school wrestler charged with the sexual battery of an opponent during a practice match.
Defense lawyer Stephen Quade told the Fresno Bee that his 17-year-old client is now scheduled to go to trial on Jan. 13 in juvenile court. The trial had been set to start Thursday.

The butt drag is a technique taught in wrestling rooms all over this country for decades. Protocol is that you make your opponent pay for such a slip, and if you are not willing to do that, you probably do not belong in the sport.
Only in the San Francisco area would a prosecutor actually ruin a kid’s life for this…I hope the suspended kid’s family takes the school district to the cleaners. What a shame.."

I thought that move was a sacrament in San Francisco.
Anyone telling you this is a legitimaate wrestling move is a liar and a pervert. This coach and any like him should be fired, prosecuted, then imprisoned--maximum security-- for aiding and abetting sexual assault of a minor.
It should be against the rules. But since it isn’t against the rules, I don’t know how they can arrest a kid for it.
I wrestled in high school. I was too small for anything else. The whole sport of wrestling could probably be prosecuted as sexual abuse under modern standards.
I could never understand the willingness to wrestle around on the floor with other guys in tight clothing... there’s just something DADT about that. My high school never offered co-ed wrestling in P.E. so I stuck to other sports.

The coach did not do it. One child did it to another child while wrestling. I was never on the wrestling team and I have never heard of this move. I do know what while wrestling certain body parts will be touched by accident. I posted this to see if other FReepers who did wrestle have heard of this “move” and to see if it is for real.
I found a couple examples of the move on Youtube. This one was the best of the bunch (No, it’s not some gay rick-roll, just clips of high school wrasslin)

You can’t stick your fingers in your opponents eyes, mouth or ass. Butt drag and anal rape are not synonomous.
He could absolutely mop up the floor with you and anyone else who refers to wrestling as rolling around with another guy.
8 years of wrestling and never saw this taught as a move.
Plenty of other disgusting stuff goes on in the wrestling room but never saw fingers in the anus.
And smart, too. My son's high school wrestling team had a mean GPA of 3.5.
Maybe it was an enhanced pat down. The kid might have a future in the TSA.
The judge DID place a gag order in this case. Wonder what kind he ordered?
