Thanks to the Obama economic failure, this would be a Republican surge year regardless. In most races across the country, the scorned Independents broke for republicans giving them the margin of victory.
Haley and Toomey I'll credit to the Tea Party. Miller is still up in the air.
Past that, looking at the other big Tea Party races:
Rubio won not because of the Tea Party but thanks to the selfishness of Charlie Crist splitting the dem vote. Angle lost to the most unpopular dem senator in the nation, a man who COULDN'T win. Paladino was a humiliating disaster. Rove was absolutely correct: O'Donnell was hopeless, throwing away a senate seat Castle would have almost certainly won.
Not to mention the Hayworth and Devore failures in the primaries.
Overall, the losses substantially outweigh the wins.
Not saying the Tea Party is useless, I don't think it is at all. But dialing down the fantasy it will hereafter control the political dialogue and set the agenda may be a good idea. Just who can throw the most red meat to the base isn't enough.
When someone can’t correctly use “then” and “than”, I don’t think I need to give their opinion much weight.
You’d probably complain if you got your head cut off with a golden ax.
The Tea Party is just getting started. Things are going to get bigger and better from here. This is where America begins changing course back to the Founder’s vision.
When you sober up, you are going to see that as one of the stupidest vanities ever posted.
If you don’t appreciate the tea party then I’d appreciate you just taking a freaking hike. We have not yet begun to fight!
Those who wave the surrender flag just as we engage the enemy are worthless. In fact less than worthless!! Freaking cowards!!
Lead, follow or get the hell out of the way!!
Sorry, did you not read? O’Donnell did not lose to the Democrats, she lost to the Republicans. Had the sore losers voted for substance instead of voting out of spite, she would not have ended up with more independent votes than Republican votes. Put the blame where it belongs.
I would posit that your blame game is misdirected.
The electorate is the primary culprit in this and practically all elections. Our society is overflowing with takers who almost, if not already, outnumber the producers, and that spells eventual doom for our society as nothing will reverse that trend outside of unprecedented bloodshed via a civil war, IMO.
In any case, the Tea Party is currently the only hope at the ballot box, IMO.
Paladino beat Rick Lazio in the primary. Rick Lazio was the best NY republicans could come up with. (?) Lazio would have done no better, maybe worse than Paladino.
Complete agreement.
I think you have just completely missed the whole damned point! It never was, has been, or will be about helping the repubs or the dems. It’s about consevratism and the rooting out the trash that makes the repub party the Dem Lite Party.
On the other hand, Ron Johnson in Wisconsin was a great candidate who was inspired by the Tea Party movement. He was just an anonymous businessman six months ago.
The key is finding GOOD conservative candidate and vetting their backgrounds. No more witches — even the good kind.
Man! All the RINOs come out on election night!
The sour grapes GOP establishment types are infesting FR like bedbugs in a seedy New York hotel tonight.
Blindly conservative?
Do I smell ozone?
You seem to leave out the “Ruling Class” nominee’s in your not so well thought out vanity post. Linda McMahon, CT, lost.
Floria, CA lost, Whitman, Ca lost. I wish they would have won. So, what does that tell you about the “Ruling Class” GOP nominee’s? The fact is no party WIN’s every race. Unfortunate, but true.
The good news is that overall, we won BIG tonight. In addition, The Tea Party will have two years to find and vet some great candidates if the “Ruling Class” puts up more of the likes of Crist, and Castle.
ARE YOU FREAKING INSANE?
The Tea Party lost a couple of Senate races, and won some others.
And won dozens of House seats, and HUNDRED’s of statehouse seats, some by majorities not seen in a HUNDRED YEARS, and they will control REDISTRICTING.
Redistricting will have huge impact on the 2012 elections, too.
Next time we get gramnesty!! Now that Spratt is gone we shitcan the Dem Lite.. got it?
;l
LOL, the concern trolls are everywhere!
I’m beginning to think the OP isn’t any kind of republican. Deep-cover sleeper troll, maybe.
